多谢你的信任。其实这个问题你应该问你的老板， 和那个能帮助你留下的人。但首先你要想想你有没有给你现在的组add value, 和怎么才能更好的add value。 然后就主动找你老板谈， 老板的老板谈。 就说你非常喜欢现在的工作。 你的目标就是想留下来， 你了解公司现在的状况， 但是你想要一个努力的目标。 圣经里有一句话我常常用来鼓励自己 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

After some back and forth emails, I was able to meet him in person. He recommended me taking a training for xxx they have, called xxx. He also asked me to talk to xxx (my boss's boss) about things we could do together to improve xxx
3. So finally, I was able to meet xxx (my boss's boss) yesterday. It was a great discussion. I shared with him what you and I have talked, my career assessment result, and some things I have been thinking for a long time that I could help with. He shared with me the people movement that could happen in the near future and where I could fit in. He said I could be a very good candidate for a xx role in xxx team. It is going to be level x role and of course, more responsibility! At the end, he asked how long I am planning to stay in US. I have a TN visa for Canadian that needs to be renewed every three years. I told him as long as I still be able to get my visa. He said he think I am a valuable employee and he is going to talk to our HR contact to see if xx can sponsor a Green Card for me.Oh.. It is definitely more than I have asked for.
4. I have been developing some xxxx since I started with xxx. Most recently, my manager, xxx (she is a director in xxx ) asked me to manage xxx . It is not where my expertise is, but I think it as a good opportunity to learn about xxx . So I am working hard to xxxx.
I am very excited about everything that happening in my life. I know I am still where I was, but I felt I have made a big step in knowing myself better and being able to step out my comfortable zone, and knowing there are lots of doors out there that I could knock on. I really appreciated that you taking your time for me. I wish I knew some big fancy words to show you how grateful I am. 我和老公常说的一句话是life is about attitude. 你把自己这么描述，你就不自觉的觉的周围的事情都印证了你的想法。 你把自己当做一个成功者，你就会觉得周围都是成功的曙光。 即使是失败，也都觉得给成功总结了经验。

我的纠正驼背经验
MM讲的太好了！我举个例子吧，我有个朋友干活那是没说的，老板给啥从不抱怨，干不完就加班加点的干，最后的结果是公司盈利不好，裁员，她因为平时光干活不表现，理所应当的被裁了下来，反而有个平时接一点事都要呼喊半天这不可能做，有困难，需要援助的人被老板留下来了。其实很多成型的公司都是这样，多你一个不多，缺你一个不少，老板当然愿意留一个合的来的。我的朋友成天除了干活啥话不说，你说老板除了有活时能想到她，还有什么事的时候能想到她呢？
这个问题我也发现了！我们祖上之前也有个大嘴婆，成天大声说大声笑，干活的时候有一大堆问题，我都觉得她烦。可最后结果是我出错了被指责是我没问清楚，她出错了却不是她的问题！我真是哑巴吃黄连。。。

lzmm非常有心，态度非常重要，过一天算一天，还是令每一天都让自己自豪，从每个黎明就开始了。而后夜以继日循环往复，1年，5年，10年。感谢lz和楼里的mm，学了很多，重要在于实施和坚持。 我以为过一天算一天是negative 的词呢， 呵呵。 我也常这么想得把每一天过的都不后悔
看了mm的职业理念，很是收益。而且mm是working mom, 事业上也很厉害。 我想问问mm是这么处理work life balance 的。我觉得事业上要上升，必然要花费比别人多的精力和时间 (我的老板们都是随时挂在blackberry上的），但是有了宝宝以后，我觉得要加班很难，回家晚宝宝就睡了，等以后宝宝大一点，还要学这学那，简直就是没时间。不想亏待宝宝，又不想在工作上的混且混，不知道mm这么处理这个问题的？

我比较幸运， 我老板也是working mom，也有两个小孩子， 而且我们公司提倡work life balance。所以工作环境还比较轻松。 但是我老公每天工作很长时间， 我能理解你的处境。
你知道我不提倡假谦虚的，但是我真的不知道下面的是否对你有帮助，你斟酌看哈。
我曾经一边上online master, 一边上班，一边还帮别人做生意。 当时经验就是要计划好时间。 每天都写一个to do list。然后安排好优先级。当然孩子永远都是最高优先级。
首先给孩子要训练好一个routine, 每天几点吃饭，几点玩，几点洗澡，几点睡觉都要固定，不仅对你安排时间有好处，对孩子生长也有好处。
然后就是和孩子玩的时候要专心致志的玩，不要想其他的。 否则很容易就有不耐烦的心理。 孩子也能感受到的， 你自己也会有内疚心理。
孩子睡觉或者看电视（我每天让孩子看一集中文动画片）的时候就赶紧做自己的事情。因为有哪个to do list,就不用考虑先做什么，后做什么了。
不知道你孩子多大了。 我女儿四岁半了， 我常常和她讲为什么我工作对我很重要，她不可以打扰。当然小孩子attention span很短，她不打扰的时间一般只有30-45分钟吧， 我一般看他要没耐心之前就停下来，否则她一叫我就停，她以后就知道叫管用，就老用了。

我在26页有两个小秘密。 一个是“还有一个小秘密是我找到了一个在市场部非常适合我的职位。还没申请，还有些小困难。 第一个困难就是我现在的头，她对我不是一般的好。不知道怎么和她说我要走。 不过她应该也知道是早晚的事。 ”
结果fail了。 那个hiring manager说那个职位我没有直接的相关经验，面试了三轮，最后一次hr当天就给我据了。 不过也因祸得福了。那个hiring manager后来主动给我又发email说在未来的几个月很有可能有更适合我的职位，问我是否还感兴趣。 我当然赶兴趣了。
另一个小秘密有一个更exited 的发展 “一个是我一月中又约到一个svp (senior VP) 去面谈， 我打算如果面谈顺利的话， 我就问问可不可以让她做我的mentor。 如果你还 记得的话， 我只是个小喽罗。 我们公司SVP 比我大不只一级两级。是president下面直接汇报的。 有这个机会，我真的很兴奋”
我和这个svp的约会日期改了又改， 终于在二月见面了。 先说说我怎么约到她的吧。 她参加了一个公司的会，大概就是讨论职业女性的工作生活之类的话题。 我那天开会没能参加。 因为她所在的的部门我非常感兴趣。 犹豫再三就决定给她写了封email。 说了说我的背景，和为什么对她的部门感兴趣。 我主要提因为和我背景相关，因为我有一些职业的困惑，想听听她的意见，我尽量希望她不要误认为我要和她套磁找工作。 我发现越是高层的人越nice。她很快就回了。 然后终于见面了。
我非常坦诚的说了我的困惑，我觉的我还能做更多，更好，但是我有时候不知道如何下手。现在的职位我做的很好，但是似乎和我的背景背道而驰。她是一个很容易交谈的人。也非常犀利。问了我几个问题。我举了几个例子我很喜欢干的事情，和我觉的我能干和希望以后有机会干的事情。 她非常直接的说你其实就是认为你能比别人更能分析流程，找到问题和解决问题，你想要更有影响的工作。 我当时有一点点尴尬，就想是我在强调爱情多美好，突然被人指出来你不就是想嫁大款嘛。

这里的中心思想是就是要不断的敲门， 这样给你打开的门才可能多。 还是我一开始说的话。 现在由衷的觉的我达到了前所未有的潜力，前所未有的游刃有愈，前所未有的对未来充满了信心。

非常同意争取credit和visibility的重要性。。。美国同事没做完一个project, 就会写一个email, 告知project team...xx project is successfully completed/accomplished.....blablabla.....同时抄送给相关的senior management.....原来觉得这些事情真是多次一举。。可是现在想来，一个email, 一个notification都是increase你的visibility, credibility的大好机会啊。。。 我不是很赞同，我觉得很多事情有个度，我们这有个中国人，凡事都很显，平时遇到事情就逃，偶尔做点啥事，还发email说successfully completed.

多谢你的信任。其实这个问题你应该问你的老板， 和那个能帮助你留下的人。但首先你要想想你有没有给你现在的组add value, 和怎么才能更好的add value。 然后就主动找你老板谈， 老板的老板谈。 就说你非常喜欢现在的工作。 你的目标就是想留下来， 你了解公司现在的状况， 但是你想要一个努力的目标。 圣经里有一句话我常常用来鼓励自己
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
其实大家都知道你做实习生的目的就是要留下来了， 你说这个都不会是surprise. 但是当你诚恳的说你想做的更好， 别人会欣赏你的积极的态度的。不管怎么样，你都会了解到更多信息的。 如果因为客观原因，公司根本就没有指标让你留下来， 你就用这个谈话的机会问问他们有没有好的建议，把你推荐给别的公司或朋友。

I thought about writing you a thank you mail after we first met. Then didn't want to waste your time unless it is necessary. So here I am sending you a Big Thank You with some updates. Following are some progress I have made based on the suggestion you gave.
1. I did the career assessment Tool you asked xx sent to me. My three biggest career drivers are Expertise, Status, Power/Influence. They echoes what you said about me during our first meeting. You probably sensed my discomfort when you said that. It is mostly because I was taught to be humble when I grow up. Wanting more power and influence is a pretty "Arrogant" thing to say. I have thought about it a lot lately and I knew that is what I want. I will have to step out my comfortable zone and see what I can do about it.
2. I read an article about a xx on xxx. I contacted xx, the project director for xx and asked if there are any xxxx. I also gave some examples that I thought we could use some continue improvement. After some back and forth emails, I was able to meet him in person. He recommended me taking a training for xxx they have, called xxx. He also asked me to talk to xxx (my boss's boss) about things we could do together to improve xxx
3. So finally, I was able to meet xxx (my boss's boss) yesterday. It was a great discussion. I shared with him what you and I have talked, my career assessment result, and some things I have been thinking for a long time that I could help with. He shared with me the people movement that could happen in the near future and where I could fit in. He said I could be a very good candidate for a xx role in xxx team. It is going to be level x role and of course, more responsibility!
At the end, he asked how long I am planning to stay in US. I have a TN visa for Canadian that needs to be renewed every three years. I told him as long as I still be able to get my visa. He said he think I am a valuable employee and he is going to talk to our HR contact to see if xx can sponsor a Green Card for me.Oh.. It is definitely more than I have asked for.
4. I have been developing some xxxx since I started with xxx. Most recently, my manager, xxx (she is a director in xxx ) asked me to manage xxx . It is not where my expertise is, but I think it as a good opportunity to learn about xxx . So I am working hard to xxxx.
I am very excited about everything that happening in my life. I know I am still where I was, but I felt I have made a big step in knowing myself better and being able to step out my comfortable zone, and knowing there are lots of doors out there that I could knock on. I really appreciated that you taking your time for me. I wish I knew some big fancy words to show you how grateful I am. Anyway, I hope you noticed I have made the Big Thank You red, bold, italic and underscored, that is all the emphasize I can get out of Outlook.
I am eager to meet you again when you have time. I wish you see the big smile on my face now. :)

写得真好，都写到我心坎里去了…… 唉，很多东西比如一定要会吹要发言，都懂，可是就是很难开口亚。有的时候想豁出去了，结果搞得自己比较紧张也还是没提问。小时候的教育…… 让我们说话要谦虚，都养成习惯了。觉得需要一个突破口，可是也不知道什么时机好，所以拖啊拖的，就得过且过了。楼主mm是怎样改变自己的呢？

太谢谢mm的分享了，醍醐灌顶，感觉自己错过了很多机会，但愿现在还不算太晚
终于要搬到那个我梦寐以求的靠窗户的位子了， 终于有个小喽罗让我领导了。我那些天天在我脑海里徘徊的领导人的好主意，终于有属于自己的小白鼠了。
我升职了， 我终于从倒数第二的位置，升到倒数第三了。还有很多层要爬哦， 我的五年计划就是再爬一层。
我升职的经验都说的前面了， 在这里在总结一下
1. 要上老板知道你有向上爬的愿望。不要以为老板知道，他肯定每天在打算怎么和他的老板表现他升职的愿望，他才没时间猜你在想什么呢。
2. networking, networking, networking。 我现在的职位一出来的时候，有四个不同的人在两天之内告诉我，
一个前面说的vp，我老板的老板，他最先发email告诉我。
另外一个部门的vp, 这个职位将和他的部门有很多交道， 我以前帮助过很多他的手下。看来他们和他说了不少好话。他特意走到我桌子边和我说，当然更可能顺路了， 不过能特意挺下来， 我就感激的不得了
我现任老板，是个director。她和我说她很不愿意我走，但是她知道这是对我职业有帮助的一步，而且我deserve it
我现任老板，和老板的老板，和我未来的老板推荐我，。。所以未来的老板特意找到我问我有没有兴趣。
经过几轮紧张激烈的面试， 我就拿到了。 其实没面试前，这么多人和我说， 而且都是拿主意的人。我就觉的我没问题了。 所以考试前我就知道我会考的好，因为我该做的作业都做了，而且也许比别人都多做了好多遍呢。
现在越来越体会到networking的重要性了。所以现在新职位认识更多的人，大部分人都发email开始说事情的， 我都主动走过去，介绍自己，谦虚一下要学很多东西，问问他们都做什么之类了。 很好的学习和networking的机会。
3. 不分场合，不分时间，不停的推销自己。
我每次参加会议的时候，虽然是别人的问题，我回来都认真想一想。有好主意我就和当事人说说。 你不停的敲鼓 （就是想一想，响一响，好有哲理哦），总有一下会打在点上吧。 当你的好主意能解决问题的时候， 你发光的机会就来了。 大部分的时候，你的好主意别人已经想到了， 不过当事人会觉的你是一个工作上的好伙伴，因为你们有同样的想法。
有时候我开车或睡觉的时候， 脑子里会冒出一些奇奇怪怪的想法和问题，比如说怎么更有效的组织管理文档，我如果不知道，就到网站找找答案，然后和有关的人随便聊聊。 那个有关的人就觉的你作为一个外行，这么感兴趣，很难的。 我通过这样渠道熟悉的人，经常上工作上有进展，还和我分享一下。 有职位空缺就更别说了。
心里很多感想，写下来就变了味道。 就到这里了。 晚安，我的小树洞。。
