In the time while they were outside the apartment, the sheriff’s department said deputies heard from the building’s manager and a maintenance worker that Li had threatened them the previous day with a knife as plumbing work was taking place in her unit. Learning that, it was determined her actions were a “threat to public safety,” the department said. They say this report gave them probable cause to arrest Li on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
As a lawyer who has represented numerous clients against HOAs, I agree they are not all bad. They serve a necessary function. The problem is, many restrictive covenants give the HOA too much power (eg, the power to foreclose a $200,000 home over $500 in unpaid assessments), and the local jurisdiction enables that rather than limiting it. When the HOA has too much power, then you are literally at the mercy of whoever is on the Board. In areas with many absentee, apathetic landlord/owners (like older condo complexes), this can be disastrous when the Board is composed of petty tyrants and fools, or even just well-meaning but unsophisticated people with no clue how to manage a $1 mm+ budget and/or large improvement projects. In higher-end neighborhoods with more educated and sophisticated owners who actually live in the neighborhood, the problems are much less likely to spin out of control. The Board is less deferential to the management company and HOA lawyers, the Board is more likely to exercise good judgment and be comfortable with shades of gray while making decisions, and the owners are more likely to recognize and remove unsuitable board members.

她嘴里反复喊的是,show me your badge, how do I know you are not an intruder?

The Board is less deferential to the management company and HOA lawyers, the Board is more likely to exercise good judgment and be comfortable with shades of gray while making decisions, and the owners are more likely to recognize and remove unsuitable board members.
yeah
Numerous independent investigations are also ongoing by the District Attorney's Office and the County's Citizens Law Enforcement Review Board (CLERB).

Seabreeze Management
我倒是觉得“你真的可以回国了”,因为没有一点的critical thinking,没有humanity. https://vimeo.com/686122232 Numerous independent investigations are also ongoing by the District Attorney's Office and the County's Citizens Law Enforcement Review Board (CLERB).
