美国广播公司新闻网（ABC News）报导，美国保健新闻网站Stat News在16日举办的峰会上公开福奇的预录专访影片，福奇指出，进入冬季，疫苗保护力下降加上Delta变异株在小区中高度盛行，将形成”双重打击”，最脆弱族群将会是未接种疫苗的人，但是也会进一步影响”已经接种疫苗的民众”。

其他欧洲国家也将迈向强制施打加强针的政策，在法国，12月15日以前，65岁以上民众必须接种第3剂才能重新启用疫苗通行证；在奥地利，第2剂打完9个月后，完整接种证明就宣告失效，等同于强制接种加强针；在以色列，除非是在过去6个月内接种第2剂疫苗，否则现在必须接种第3剂才能使用”绿色通行证”（Green Pass），如此才能获准进出健身房、餐厅等场所。
不过公卫专家也担心，富国过度依赖加强针会影响到低收入国家的疫苗供应，目前低收入国家只有4.6%人口打过疫苗。世卫（WHO）秘书长谭德塞（Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus）指出，每天全世界接种加强针的剂数是低收入国家施打标准疫苗剂数的6被，他痛批这种情况根本是”丑闻”。

这个数据挺有意思。 我又查了以色列和新加坡两个接种率超高的国家， 以色列也是类似的一条直线。 新加坡在快速上升， 这说明之前的种种限制措施在降低死亡率上可能更有效。 另外一种解读就是，在医疗系统不被击穿的情况下，死亡率都差不多， 疫苗可以减少重症，从而在开放后也维持较低的死亡率
