背景： 离异单亲妈妈，有一小娃。有房子(y有房贷)， 保险，退休金和存款若干 今年买了公司的legal plan，按说是包estate planning. 找了个律师刚开始想做will。然后被极力劝说做living trust。特别是因为想到自己万一在娃成年前挂了，不想让前夫去控制我留给娃的财产，好像只做will无法决定让信得过的朋友监管财产。不知道是不是这么回事。我被律师说的有些心动，想反正这个legal plan 包，不如就做trust.但是律师又说有些费用必须自己出。他要求750刀的retainer. 原话如下： quote: "theHyatt Legal Plan does not cover out-of-pocket expenses. Expenses such as recording fees at theregistry of deeds and the cost to transfer your assets into the Trust areout-of-pocket expenses and do not constitute a legal fee. To the best of my knowledge, no legal serviceplan would pay for expenses of this kind. The retainer that we are requesting would apply to the aforementionedcosts above.,"
前段时间刚做完， out of pocket 一共80，20 county 收的transfer 房子title的费用，60 notory的费用，其他保险全包，401k和ira账号不用放到trust里，其他股票银行账户自己找broker或银行update就可以了，建议资产超过5万的账户都放到trust里。

这个750感觉有点高，建议换一家问问吧。
另外trust最大的好处是万一不幸发生可以避免财产走probate流程，如果找不到可靠的人做sucessor trustee可以考虑找机构，我知道的boa和vanguard都有专门的trust部门，不过对资产总额有一定要求，他们接手管理之后会每年收取一定的管理费，接手之前没有任何费用。
