Although Facebook has kept silent in an unusual way in the past several days and conducted no investigation, multiple social media posts and videos surfaced from insiders have all pointed to the horrible workplace toxicity Qin was impaired prior to this tragedy.
While Facebook remained silent and conducted no investigation(???do we know that?) over the incident, multiple social media sources pointed to toxic work place culture as a potential cause.
以下是我跟几个mm合写的通稿内容: “Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.” --- Benjamin Franklin
Facebook employee, Qin Chen, died after jumping off the fourth floor of a Facebook building in Menlo Park, CA, in an apparent suicide on September 19, 2019, a beautiul and shiny Thursday. Although Facebook has kept silent in an unusual way in the past several days and conducted no investigation, multiple social media posts and videos surfaced from insiders have all pointed to the horrible workplace toxicity Qin was impaired prior to this tragedy.
Through his friends and colleagues we get to know that Qin was bullied in the workplace, suffered extreme stress. In the end, he fought back in an extreme yet violent way by paying a cost of his life, a young precious life. A young life, a precious one is lost. And the loss of precious life demands answers. However, until this moment, as far as we know, no discussion on this topic is allowed within Facebook. Employees are not allowed to ask why. The company calls all asking for reasons “circulating misinformation or rumor”.
Some of us know Qin personally, most don’t. However, just like our founding father’s famous quote, “Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.” We all are outraged. What happened to Qin? Why did he jump off an office building in a work day, leaving his family and friends all behind? Why is Facebook a company which promotes social interactions silent and cold this time? Truth, but truth, what is the truth if a company truly wants to avoid misinformation and rumor?
The more we ask, the stronger obligation we feel that we have to demand a full investigation from Facebook leadership team and the justice for Qin. No one should suffer from a toxic working environment. No one should die this way, ever again. No wife should be departed from her dear husband this way. No child should lose his/her loving father this way. No one should hold a sign and send flowers to here, a famous technology company who claim to make our daily life better this way. Time to say No. Time to Stop. Time for a giant global company to reflect his mission statement to human beings.
Please join us in the vigil and the “WE DESERVE THE TRUTH” campaign to memorize Qin and support each other in this hard-working community. Event date and time: Thursday September 26,1:00-2:30 pm Location: Facebook Like Sign (map)
We have raised sufficient funds from all over North America to support this campaign. Volunteers will prepare flowers and protest signs and distribute at the event. Please arrive at the event on time wearing dark clothing without any company logo. baby.chen 发表于 9/24/2019 7:47:07 PM
一点小意见,“in an extreme yet violent way” 可以改成 desperate,因为除非他最后来个枪击伤害到别人了,用violent会有点misleading again,谢谢组织者,一起加油把这个carry下去

“We deserve the truth” Who are “we”? Employees in the tech industry? Bay Area community?Asian American?
Facebook is taking over the world and all aspects of our lives, yet showed no regard for it’s own employee’s life in this tragedy. How do we trust it to be a responsible corporate citizen in an age when these big tech companies wield so much money, power, and influence on our society?

We gather here today to express our sincere condolences to the deceased. Most of us don’t know him personally, but many of us can relate to the mounting pressure, stress and despair he must have felt when he decided to take his own life. We are immigrants, parents, who came to this country to seek a better life for our family. 感觉舆论上来说doesnt play well with people who didnt follow the story。

While Facebook remained silent and conducted no investigation(???do we know that?) over the incident, multiple social media sources pointed to toxic work place culture as a potential cause.

一点小意见,“in an extreme yet violent way” 可以改成 desperate,因为除非他最后来个枪击伤害到别人了,用violent会有点misleading
可以换成no official investigation being released???
Facebook is taking over the world and all aspects of our lives, yet showed no regard for it’s own employee’s life in this tragedy. How do we trust it to be a responsible corporate citizen in an age when these big tech companies wield so much money, power, and influence on our society?

2.图片上的标语可以改成 in memory of QIN CHEN(分一行) Facebook employee dead because of toxic workplace/bullying

Qin"。
Suggestion of an outline,
1. We will be gathering at xxxxx(place), at xx:xx (time) to pay our respect to our dear friend Mr. Chen Qin, a loving husband, father, and son, who tragically left us last week. We also wish to express our deepest condolences to his parents, wife (name), and daughter (name).
Like sign
