If you have exercised and not over eaten, I'm pretty sure you have not gained "real weight" (fat).
Our body weight could fluctuate quite a bit. Even 3-4 lbs during one day. 2 glasses of water (500ml) is 1 lb! When I eat a meal with a lot of vegetables, meat, soup, tea or water, it could easily add 3 lbs.
So I will not pay too much attention to that. I prefer to use a pair of pants as measure than the weight. At the end, it's "how good you look" that matters :-)
Also, you can weigh yourself the same time each week (such as Saturday morning right out of bed).

Don't worry. Your body is probably telling you that it needs some rest. Once it's well rested, it will be ready to exercise and you will be in the mood.
One thing I've learned in the past year (and still learning) is that our body has amazing ability to regulate itself. And we need to learn to listen to it.

Don't worry. It's normal. Once your stomach muscle is stronger (and probably also neck muscel), you will be able to do it without the hands. After 3 months of Callanetics, I was still holding my head towards the end of the 100 times.
And even now, if I skip the stomach exercise a couple of weeks and restart, I have to hold the head. So it's all about stomach muscel...

I found you girls my inspiration too. I hope to make exercising a habit and keep doing it till I'm too old to walk. But it's hard if this is not your passion. Exercising makes me feel good, but I can't say I'm passionate about it. :-( I still prefer to lie on the sofa and watch a show :-)
I know, losing weight is hard. That's why there are so many weight loss products :-)
BTW, besides skinny genes, one thing that I do very well is that I get roughly zero calories from drinks. It's like that for the last ten years. I only drink water and tea. I don't like other drinks that much. Many people like juice. I don't. I like fruit, but not juice.

Please don't pay too much attention to weight. Our weight can fluctuate a lot, even in a day.
I did an experiment: (my scale is pretty new and very acurate, because my husband is a bit obsessed with weight :-)
1. Morning, right after I got up: 51.5 Kg 2. Went to toilet (#1 and #2): 51.2 Kg 3. No breakfast, ran out to grocery store. Got back in 2 hours: 50.8 Kg 4. After lunch (fish, vege, rice, water): 51.8 Kg
So you see, I definitely didn't gain 1 Kg just eating lunch. And #3 is also interesting: losing 0.4 Kg in 2 hours doing nothing? So I won't pay much attention to small weight fluctuations. Your clothes are the best indicator of whether you're getting thinner or bigger.
In your case, my guess is that our body tends to store water before MC --- my rings always get tighter. And we may feel "swollen". Once my MC starts, my rings get loose again.
It's important is not to let this discourage you. You're exercising a lot and eating well, and that is REAL! :-)
1. Stand with your feet hip width apart. Stretch both your arms up to the ceiling as high as you can, and stretch your torso up as well. Tighten your buttocks, and curl your pelvis up. Stretch your torso up even more. Keep your knees relaxed and your feet flat on the floor.
2. In one smooth motion, gently bend your knees as much as you can, and lower your upper body toward the floor, with your arms reaching forward and your torso stretching out and away.
3. Very gently swing your arms back, raising them as high as you can behind your body. Your knees will straighten slightly and your buttocks will rise with the motion of your arms going toward your back and then up.
4. just as you are about to reverse the movement to return to yur upstretched psition, tighten your buttocks and curl your pelvis up even more than your think you can . keep it curled until you retun to your original starting position, with arms and torso once again stretching up to the ceiling. If you have a swayback, curl your pelvis up as much as you can stretch your arms and torso up.
repetitions: work up to 5 beginners:3
Do not arch your back while stretching your arms toward the ceiling. Do not lock your knees or tense your feet. Keep your shoulder and neck relaxed.
This is basically the same gentle, swinging stretch as Up and Down, except you will stay in semicrouching position.
1. Stand with your feet hip width apart. Stretch both arms up toward the ceiling. Bend your knees a little. tighten your buttocks and curl your pelvis up. Now stretch your torso even more. Keep your knees relaxed and your feet flat on the floor. Gently bend your knees as much as you can and lower your upper body toward the floor, your arms reaching forward and aiming toward the floor.
2. From this position gently swing your arms backward and forward. Relax your entire body, as if you were a floppy rag doll, sweeping your arms back and forth as your knees gently move up and down.
3. When you have finished your repetitions, tighten your buttocks and curl your pelvis up. Slowly return to the starting position, rounding your torso up one vertebra at a time with your head coming up last.
repetition: 5 beginners: 3 keep your shoulders and knees totally relaxed. Let go of your neck.

找到了,原来有些动作是没有图片的。我有空就打一点,大家体会体会。。。

昨天我做stomach的时候,到了最后一个100下的时候,好象找到最佳感觉了,肚子上一片肌肉的收缩的每一下都能感到,而且肚子和大腿发热,“能量热呼呼地往外冒”(夸张了哈),虽然看不见。
我要继续好好琢磨。。。。。。。
可能是昨天运动过度了。

刚才又跟了10*10, 还是忽略了譬部。我发现我还是跟着她做才能用心体会动作,看电视什么的动作很难到位。
题外问题,我这台电脑为什么看大家名字都是重影那种,另外的电脑就没问题。 有人知道是怎么回事么?因为想和MM讨论,但是名字对不上号。

我有时候也还是觉得脖子扯着了,力量同样不太好。
另外,那个动作如果胳膊肘抬起来点,向外,感觉到腰部2侧也得到锻炼。同时脖子感觉好一些。

No exercise so far. Out for lunch. And busy with work, but really enjoyed it.

刚才做完卡兰第八次, 还是痛的要命, 不过还是没有出汗。pelvic scoop,卡兰说是用 inner thigh LIFT UP, 我觉得outer thigh更用力啊。是不是没做对?你们是怎样的感受?坚持运动好难啊, 因为运动很痛苦, 人的情绪多变。运动是锻炼意志力最好的方法,自找苦吃啊。

练那几个hip and behind的动作,总觉得只用到upper butt的肌肉,好像没用到lower butt屁股肉最多的地方。视频里卡兰总是说Pelvic Floor, 刚刚上网研究了一下,原来要engage pelvic floor,对于收紧屁股和大腿效果才好,这个链接里面的帖子说得比较详细

I found you girls my inspiration too. I hope to make exercising a habit and keep doing it till I'm too old to walk. But it's hard if this is not your passion. Exercising makes me feel good, but I can't say I'm passionate about it. :-( I still prefer to lie on the sofa and watch a show :-)

BTW, besides skinny genes, one thing that I do very well is that I get roughly zero calories from drinks. It's like that for the last ten years. I only drink water and tea. I don't like other drinks that much. Many people like juice. I don't. I like fruit, but not juice.
Many Americans get probably 500 cal a day from drinks (soda, milk, juice, coffee with cream, etc). That adds 1 lb a week!

我生理期瘦了1.8斤, 黄金周瘦了0.2斤。我仔细看了我的记录,黄金周饮食和运动都比生理周要好,怎么瘦那么少?生理期运动消耗热量2400,黄金周运动消耗3000. 疑惑,不懂,求解.
Please don't pay too much attention to weight. Our weight can fluctuate a lot, even in a day.
I did an experiment:
(my scale is pretty new and very acurate, because my husband is a bit obsessed with weight :-)
1. Morning, right after I got up: 51.5 Kg
2. Went to toilet (#1 and #2): 51.2 Kg
3. No breakfast, ran out to grocery store. Got back in 2 hours: 50.8 Kg
4. After lunch (fish, vege, rice, water): 51.8 Kg
So you see, I definitely didn't gain 1 Kg just eating lunch. And #3 is also interesting: losing 0.4 Kg in 2 hours doing nothing? So I won't pay much attention to small weight fluctuations. Your clothes are the best indicator of whether you're getting thinner or bigger.
In your case, my guess is that our body tends to store water before MC --- my rings always get tighter. And we may feel "swollen". Once my MC starts, my rings get loose again.
It's important is not to let this discourage you. You're exercising a lot and eating well, and that is REAL! :-)

练得久的mm来说说,到底怎么做才算engage pelvic floor,好像体会不到这个要点
Actually I don't know if I'm doing it right with that... Some say it's similar to the Kegel exercise, others say Callan never said that.
I just push my pelvis forward and squeeze my butt inward...

今天午饭前练了第一次,还不熟悉动作,跟着DVD做的,边学边练差不多花了1.5hr,我练了有半年的玉珠铉,柔韧性还是比较好的,不知道是不是这个原因,我没有特别酸痛的感觉,就是胳膊的大臂内侧有点酸,或者我的动作还不够标准,没有用到inner muscle?请mm们指教。。。。谢谢大家!!
1. warm up
我喜欢,除了微微汗。。。那个胳膊向后震动的动作好酸好累啊,大概我胳膊酸就是这个练的。。
2. stomach
好难好难啊,坚持不到100下,基本上练25下break然后继续,最后50下都是抱着脖子或者大腿做的,不知道这样可不可以啊?
以后要加油,做这个的时候除了不少汗,感觉胃部的肌肉在运动,不过不知道为什么现在stomach附近没有任何感觉呢?
3. legs and inner thighs
可能是我大腿太strong?或者以前经常stretch大腿?我做这些动作还算是比较轻松的,练的时候酸,练完就不酸了。。
4. buttocks, hips, and outer thighs
这个我做的时候,就感觉屁股外侧很酸,连着侧腰酸痛。。还是练完就不酸了。。
5. stretch
好舒服啊。。。喜欢。。。

我家里就用的是走步机,还是生完老大的时候买的呢,就从来没怎么好好用过。现在希望能坚持。
另外你说得动作,我觉得要慢慢地体会,慢慢来,我到现在那个动作还不是完全正确呢。

呵呵,小妹妹,我这大肚腩是耷拉着呢,但是我看到成果了,虽然很小的区别,但我很阿Q,觉得很有成果呢。 今天就感觉累点,也因为天气比较阴,不愿意动,不知道晚上能不能动动。

又练了完整的10 10。这次stomach有点感觉了。以前还是有些动的幅度大,即使已经很小幅度了,感觉是靠胃部的小幅度收紧带动上半身的curl。以前我有点搞反了。

幅度我的体会是,小幅度,但是是在极限位置的小幅度。一旦幅度大了,反而很多时候离开了极限的姿势。不过不知道对不对。
我都做了10几次了 很多时候还觉得自己每次的动作都不一样
恩,有了点体会了,做stomach的时候要保证是腹部带动背部轻微震动。。。。我做的时候是通过看到胃部的肥肉在动(哎,腰腹肥肉太多),而且很酸,从而确定是stomach的肌肉在做工,有经验的jm们也指点指点呗。。。。
锻炼leg的时候还是练的时候酸,练完就不酸了,很是奇怪,还要慢慢琢磨。。。
锻炼臀部的时候,我就使劲把臀部往前扭,觉得臀部和侧腰有酸疼的感觉

明天开始,重新控制饮食。
Up and Down
1. Stand with your feet hip width apart. Stretch both your arms up to the ceiling as high as you can, and stretch your torso up as well. Tighten your buttocks, and curl your pelvis up. Stretch your torso up even more. Keep your knees relaxed and your feet flat on the floor.
2. In one smooth motion, gently bend your knees as much as you can, and lower your upper body toward the floor, with your arms reaching forward and your torso stretching out and away.
3. Very gently swing your arms back, raising them as high as you can behind your body. Your knees will straighten slightly and your buttocks will rise with the motion of your arms going toward your back and then up.
4. just as you are about to reverse the movement to return to yur upstretched psition, tighten your buttocks and curl your pelvis up even more than your think you can . keep it curled until you retun to your original starting position, with arms and torso once again stretching up to the ceiling. If you have a swayback, curl your pelvis up as much as you can stretch your arms and torso up.
repetitions: work up to 5
beginners:3
Do not arch your back while stretching your arms toward the ceiling.
Do not lock your knees or tense your feet.
Keep your shoulder and neck relaxed.

This is basically the same gentle, swinging stretch as Up and Down, except you will stay in semicrouching position.
1. Stand with your feet hip width apart. Stretch both arms up toward the ceiling. Bend your knees a little. tighten your buttocks and curl your pelvis up. Now stretch your torso even more. Keep your knees relaxed and your feet flat on the floor. Gently bend your knees as much as you can and lower your upper body toward the floor, your arms reaching forward and aiming toward the floor.
2. From this position gently swing your arms backward and forward. Relax your entire body, as if you were a floppy rag doll, sweeping your arms back and forth as your knees gently move up and down.
3. When you have finished your repetitions, tighten your buttocks and curl your pelvis up. Slowly return to the starting position, rounding your torso up one vertebra at a time with your head coming up last.
repetition: 5
beginners: 3
keep your shoulders and knees totally relaxed. Let go of your neck.

我最大的问题是,每次做都觉得真心喜欢。可是每次都坚持个3,4天就懒了。今天开始要每天来报道。对了,大家生理期做吗?
