I don't even remember the name of this philosopher, and I read this comment long before I recognized the characteristics of the modern world distinctively. Somehow this comment has survived, likely for its plainness and truthfulness.
One can argue that the success of 李子柒 is an instance of this truthfulness.

但古人认为可能,在必然和或然两个范畴叠合处,有个中庸之道。这个很空洞、缥缈,:)。文学也是两个范畴,如果只有学,文学就成工艺品、制造品里的印刷品一类;如果只有文,写作即是涂鸦,无法品别。把这两个范畴和古人两个范畴再叠加起来,就得到了真正的“犯愁”——所以就设了个奖。
多數人確乎衹備其一。如齊白石會畫,不善理論。傅雷善論,但不會畫。
按照庄子所讲,那么文字只是如光,照亮那个意。然而每个人所得的意却不同,视乎他的所学,就像得到了一个影:仁者见仁,智者见智。我认为狭义的文学也可以这样看。一篇著作的文光学影,在不同时代,都还是仁者仍然见仁,智者仍然见智,那么就传世了。文学家大概都想写出这样的东西,所以他一定是对如何写文和欣赏(格调、素质、眼界)都有个估计,才能下笔。
似乎是胡适说的,许多佛经都可以看作优美的文学作品。他所讲,也是广义的文学。
呵呵,好像还是自说自话,没办法。
不管他们怎么说。闻一多说文学两大高峰,《庄子》是其一。屈原不知道,庄子是个最会欣赏的。
问题在于虚的比实的难于表达,一般人不善长,就算名家也不行。
大胆直接一点好了,虚的方面,钱钟书是棒的,但是功力还是不够,如果参照日本作家夏目漱石,泉镜花来说。实的方面,鲁迅功力棒的,但是不够,如果参考日本作家谷崎润一郎,三岛由纪夫。中国80年开始的当代文学作品,用力过猛。2000年开始的作品,无病呻吟的多,如果参考石黑一雄。
文学作品非常忌讳无病呻吟,虚情假意,这方面俺跟为版想法完全一致,必需质朴,纯真一些。
还有就是,目前流行的金句党在修辞学上非常幼稚。任何金句都需要一个背景,基础,以及酝酿的过程。因为感情是需要酝酿的。想打动读者光凭金句绝对不够。
