Only a generation ago, we, as little kids, played outside from dawn to dusk. We'd explore and walk everywhere. We played hide and seek. Our parents never had to worry about our safety. The sky was blue and the clouds were white when the weather was good; we could really see forever on a clear day. As a parent, I sometimes looked at my son and wondered just what life would be like for him when he became an adult; what the future held for him. The other day, we visited Wynwood Walls, a renowned urban street art museum, where I saw this sculpture. I found myself staring at it for a long, long time, deeply moved by something I couldn't quite put my finger on.
can't help but think about the future.
