I have been playing golf for around 6ish years and I am still a novice. I would say it is one my hobbies but I am definitely not crazy about it. I guess there are two main reasons for me to keep playing the game, one is because of my husband's passion with golfing, and golfing itself does bring some enjoyable moments to my life.
Golfing is fun only when you are improving your game, that is what I have learned over the years. Going to the driving range, play more games or even watching golf channel more often is going to help. But first thing first, you need a good coach. I always tell my friends, if you really want to learn how to play golf, don't just go to the driving and hit balls by yourself, the best way to learn the game and improve is by taking lessons with a certified golf professional, it is just that simple. You have to practice with purpose.
Mentally, have learned how to set my realistic expectation, how to deal with failure, how to calm myself when I am disappointed. Dealing with the frustration, improving concentration are the life-long lesson on the golf course.
There is a popular saying in golf: There is always one good shot that brings you back because that makes you realize you have the potential to get better.
So here is the recent shot I had from the picture. It was a 130 Yard par3 with slightly downhill, I used my hybrid and literately hit the hole, so called hole-in-one, but since they put blue styrofoam in the hole (to space due to the Covid), the ball jumped out after hitting the hole (it can still happen without the styrofoan though). This was so far the closest experience to hole-in-one in my life. I was so thrilled!
It is about golfing.

我的hobby和你的比都是粗人干的粗活, 需要改进hobby了.
We are so lucky to have so many affordable public courses here in North America :)
you'd be surprised how much of everything you can pick up as you go :)
疫情期间,各球场都有各自的做法,减少各方面的接触:)
and to embrace the never-ending challenges
The real competition in golf is playing against yourself.
I really like this one:
"The game of golf requires skill, focus and a certain 'zen of being in the moment'"
to me, it is more like 60% and 40% :)
how handsome......
