What started as a random act of kindness from one man paying for the car behind him in a Dairy Queen drive-thru resulted in over 900 cars also taking part in the pay it forward chain.
Tina Jensen, the store manager at one of the two Dairy Queens in town Minnesota, told CNN a man came by the drive-thru window on Thursday and asked if he could pay for his meal and for the car behind him. Jensen told her cashier this tends to happen once in a while but at most it lasts for 15 or 20 cars and fizzles out. This time, the chain continued for two and a half days with over 900 cars participating, raking in $10,000 in sales.
When the chain closed for the night Thursday, one car left $10 to begin the chain back up Friday morning and again on Saturday morning.
One time we went to a Thai restaurant. We sat next to an Indian family with a young girl. The girl and my dauther are about the same age. We're happy to see the family and we smiled at them. After we sat down, we chatted with the young girl for a little bit. Then we went on our own ways. They left the restaurant first, just after we finished ordering our desserts.
When we're done with our dinner and asked for our bill, we're told that family already paid it for us. We're so surprised. They didn't say anything to us before they left. We didn't even have a chance to say "thank you" to them.
Fail, end weakly, especially after a hopeful beginning. For example, The enthusiasm for reform has fizzled out in this state. The word fizzle dates from the early 1500s and meant “to break wind without making noise.” Later it was applied to hissing noises, such as those made by wet fireworks, and then to any endeavor that ends in disappointment. [Colloquial; mid-1800s]
