譬如“不太喜欢什么东西”,他会说,I can care less,说人家不太聪明,他会说,not the brightest bulb on the christmas tree,嫌我说话声音太大了,他会说,honey, we have neighbours. :))
<Jump in the shower>:字面的意思:跳进冲凉房。也有地方说 Hop in the shower。
I am gonna jump in the shower: I feed the dogs, put the coffee on, and jump in the shower:我喂好狗,把咖啡煮上,然后冲凉。 I’ll be right back, I’m gonna go jump in the shower:
<Bob’s your uncle>:
You add two cups of water and heat it for five minutes and Bob’s your uncle, the soup is ready. ” I will heat up some leftover meat, and then steam some vegetable. Bob’s your uncle! We will have nice dinner tonight.” You just download the app, sign up and hit the start button. Bob’s your uncle:
I haven’t had one accident so far. Knock on wood. The team I support has been winning every game so far, knock on wood. We have had a smooth journey so far, knock on wood.
cougar也指“an older woman seeking a sexual relationship with a younger man”所以当你进到一个酒吧,如果你的朋友说这是一个cougar bar,你就明白你会看到什么了:))
"Bob's your uncle" is a phrase commonly used in Ireland, United Kingdom and Commonwealth countries that means "and there it is" or "and there you have it". Typically, someone says it to conclude a set of simple instructions or when a result is reached. Wikipedia › wiki › Bob's_your_uncle
To push the envelop is to stretch the boundaries.
例句:
Its natrual stage for most teenagers to push the envelop of their parents' rules. “You can't be afraid when it comes to fashion. I like to push the envelope a little bit.”Actress Jennifer Lopez talks about her personal style. (Us Weekly) Each year, Apple releases new products that pushes the envelop.

I haven’t had one accident so far. Knock on wood. The team I support has been winning every game so far, knock on wood. We have had a smooth journey so far, knock on wood.
not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree,表达真聪明!
那个knock the wood,比如我说:“ It is not busy today!”
not the brightest bulb on the christmas tree
ain't the sharpest tool in the shed (
也可以简单说 not the brightest, not the sharpest....
cougar也指“an older woman seeking a sexual relationship with a younger man”所以当你进到一个酒吧,如果你的朋友说这是一个cougar bar,你就明白你会看到什么了:))
Never heard it in U.S, even my husband said so.

It means I don't care.
后来就发觉这位老师特爱说 be my guest,譬如,这次作业,你们想做PPT,想写reflecction, 或者拍视频,什么都行,be my guest, 巴拉巴拉巴拉,be my guest.....
May I use your bike? - Go ahead, by my guest.
Do you mind if we go camping without you? – No, be my guest
You might stay here, or go outside, or go to the library. Be my guest.
