and done. Preferable with statement such as the clog is not in your unit but in the common area. You should read the condo rules and there must be a policy about this. You need to email them, the PM, the invoice and persuade the HOA to pay the bill.

They only on a monthly or bi-monthly meetings to deal with issues not clearly defined. PM may try to brush you off. You have a strong case to get HOA pay the bill, in my opinion and experience. Forget about the insurance, the damage may be lower than the deductible.
我在一楼，上周四厨房下水道堵了，房客是个单身男，平时也不做饭，回家就睡个觉，3天没有用水。上周六我先找了一个plumber去。他用了25 feet的snake， 还没有达到堵的地方。我们觉得25 feet已经超出了我condo的下水道长度，因为一般一个一卧室的下水道大概10 feet，应该是已经通到公共下水道去了，而堵的地方在公共下水道里。既然是公共下水道，这个时侯没有水回流，而且房客并没有用水，就打算下周一给HOA打电话，让HOA派人来通。结果房客晚上回家发现水从厨房水池里冒上来，把厨房的地板都淹了。于是赶紧给HOA打电话。因为是周末，只有一个紧急留言。过了40分钟，HOA的管理公司打电话回来，让我先找一个24小时服务的plumber来。说如果问题出在我的公寓里，我出钱。如果出在公共下水道里，HOA出钱。我就赶紧找到一个大公司的plumber，他用了45 feet的snake，才把下水道通了。他也说这么长的snake才通，肯定是到公共下水道了。而且房客并没有用水，这冒出来的水应该是楼上2楼3楼用的水，流到公共下水道的某处地方，遇到堵，回流进了我的房子。我于是付了他的费用$500。现在我找HOA付款给我，被断然拒绝，说是我自己下水道的问题，应该我自己付款。想请教一下各位大佬，我应该怎么办呢？还有没有可能让HOA付款呢？谢谢了。
如果是公共区，你的邻居也会有水冒出来。还有其他户抱怨吗？

我都email 给HOA了。他们刚开始没有理我。发了两次email，再打了两个电话，才用email回复我，deny.
你给他们写信，把帐单寄给他们。他们会开会讨论决定的。一般来说会同意的。
公共场所的损坏是应该HOA付的。通下水道500块也不是小钱。
是啊，咱也就是个小房东，500块通个下水道还是蛮贵的。主要是公共下水道，应该是他们的责任呀。
