自住房在新泽西。在新冠刚开始的时候(去年三月)装了地下室,大概一千平米左右,walk-in front door, 有单独的浴室卫生间,一共三间房。
GC是我们镇上的,口碑很好,也算是我老公的朋友,我们比较信任他的。当时疫情严重,所有的town offices都关门,所以他没有申请permit, 连inspection也是用视频做的。
装修完了我们非常满意,用了一年多了。没有大问题,有小毛病给GC打电话马上就修好了。 我们还有30%余款没有付清,当时给他说好的申请了permit以后算清。
后来他一直拖着没联系我们,前几天打电话问我们要不要apply for permit and pay balance. 我说没问题。
现在我们有点担心如果close permit加那么大的居住面积tax会涨很多。我们的税已经比同类的要高30% (由于种种历史原因)再加很多真是有点承受不了。
GC建议不用申请,可以等卖房子的时候再申请。
我想问下如果到时GC万一不在了,我们自己申请有没有问题,有任何risk吗?(我们应该至少要再住五年)
