我目前对第三节比较感兴趣。许多著名的中国学者一直在琢磨“无使尨也吠”（见《古史辨，第三册》）的意思，摸她的腰带与狗的叫声有什么关系？用胡适博士的话说：“触摸腰带到底能发出多大的声音？”他们这样问，但似乎找不到一个满意的答案。但在我看来，答案并非远在千里之外，答案其实就在眼前，直勾勾地盯着你的双眼。那就是触摸腰带与狗叫声没有任何关系，因为这只是幻想出来的吓唬。真正的吓唬是会把小伙子赶走的，这可是她最不希望发生的事情。但是第一行看起来像是表达出一份真感情，这让我想起古罗马诗人奥维德（Ovid）的《爱的艺术》（Ars Amatoria）中的几句话：
Press not, although the tempest urge, thy pace!
Lest she thou lovest linger far behind.
Soar side by side! And mingle flesh and mind,
In one joint moment of supreme embrace.
