问这个问题的直接原因是儿子报UCLA CS被WL, 几个比孩子稍差的同学通过EE或数学进了UCLA, 其实也都是想学CS. 尽管转专业（后面转CS)几乎不可能，但不是说进大厂或想从事CS方面的工作就刷题就行吗？我儿子也说CS的东西自学也行。我现在就有点糊涂了：CS竞争激烈而自己条件一般的情况下，是不是可以先进TIER1学校非CS的STEM专业，然后通过自学或其他途径（如读CS的MASTER)进入CS的工作呢？反正很多课程是一样的。
另一个直接问题是假如都能通过CS的笔试口试（通过刷题），一个高一档学校的EE, CE, MATH专业的学生和低一档学校的CS学生，大厂或CS岗位招聘的公司会只看重候选人的专业是否CS来做取舍决定吗？（如UCLA VS UCSD）

比方说人家要求35岁以下，36岁的简历才看到年龄就被扔了垃圾桶，再厉害刷了再多的题在这种情况下也枉然。。。
CS job is all about (project/coding) experience + 刷题
只是对金刚校的容错度要大得多。
如果喜欢写软件，我强烈建议本科学CS，受的训练不一样的，我儿子告诉我他喜欢硬件，我也没办法，出来工作机会肯定少很多。
估计这两位开饭铺都会卖臭鳜鱼。。。都是我们黄山那一片的。。。

容错度不一定高，有时反而有点失望，觉得怎么这都答不好，在金刚校怎么混的？
面试表现好的又有金刚校加持当然是锦上添花，不然未必给offer。

去社区大学2年转
正常情况下，没有理由相信进不了CS专业的自己学就可以学到CS要读四年的水平。如果大学学校不满意，读一两年以后可以转校，或者毕业以后再申请个硕士。

娃学校很多数学专业毕业的孩子在大厂做Software Engr., 此外 management engineering 毕业的也不少在做SWE, 虽然我也吃惊于这一专业能做SWE
