My son was in a similar situation a few years ago. He committed to Berkeley EECS from another state. In early May, he received notices from UChicago (Econ) and Duke (CS) and asked him if he would accept their admissions from WL. By then, he was all for Berkeley and did not consider the admissions even though we as parents really wanted him to go to UChicago.
It turned out that everything worked out really well for him. We as out of state parents felt that UC Berkeley is definitely an excellent school, comparable to other top schools. Based on the talks over the years with other parents from IVY and IVY Plus schools, I feel that the theory of so called more resources available to students at top private schools are really over sold. I do have direct experiences with both Berkeley and the Ivy school my second kid is going.
During our visits to him, we met lots of his friends there, and saw there were so many talented students in Berkeley. Among his friends and roommates, some are going to medical schools, some are working for top mature tech companies as well as new startups, and more are going to top graduate schools. In his time in Berkeley, he was involved in research projects in BAIR (Berkeley Artificial Intelligence Research Lab), Redwood Neroscience Center and Haas Business School as an undergraduate student. He did not feel that his experiences were limited due to lack of resources.
女儿拿了UCB Regents ,进文理学院，准备考HAAS. (不知能否考上）
今天UChicago 通知女儿可以进，但要等明年2022 才能入学。
孩子准备以后向金融方向发展，不知道选哪个学校好，请大家指教。

有的学校以前和一些机构合作让gap 学生到外国去
我家以前有过类似的，UCB regents和另一个学校。我们想让孩子去UCB，省钱啊，学费全免。可人家想去另一个学校。结果放弃UCB。毕业后问人家如果再给选一次，会去哪，说还是那个学校。我觉得花的钱值了。
不用gap 1年 (選芝大 這一年你不能去別的大學上課)
UCB大一 大二成績好 應該可以上Haas 畢竟大部分的名額都是給大三生

塔木太regional 现在加大当然不同
晚一年开始大学生活对孩子的影响是正面的还是负面的。 UCB 的hass declare rate 很低，需要领导船和经济方面的EC，成绩也要好， 有没有把握declare。万一不能进hass， 又不想学CS, UCB 未必是好选择。至于治安， 两个学校半斤八两。家长都有点提心吊胆的。
金融（finance）是商学院几个大方向之一，另外的还有marketing，operation management等。如果学金融，进花街的投行是方向之一，另外的去资产管理公司（大投行里面也有资产管理部门，譬如私行一类的），保险公司，到一般企业去做business/financial analyst的也有不少。投行里面的投行业务一般分IBD（投行部）和sales and trading, 其中前者除了懂些finance，也需要对所服务的行业有些了解，当然干到高级别的就是靠拉关系了，基本成了marketing；后者里面的sales本质就是marketing，trading吗，当然要靠核心竞争力，which is。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。运气，哈哈
那就应该去UCB，能进商学院就从本科开始读金融，不能进商学院学个大概喜欢的，出来弄两年工作经验再去读MBA。从进top MBA program的角度来说，UBA的理工科本科不比芝大的经济学吃亏（如果不是更受欢迎的话）
不愿意cap的话当然伯克利啦。
