Every year, some students find that their interests are best accommodated by pursuing a joint concentration that combines two fields. The two fields combined in a joint concentration must each be an undergraduate concentration offered in its own right. A joint concentration is meant to integrate the two fields into a coherent plan of study and ordinarily culminates in an interdisciplinary thesis written while enrolled in the thesis tutorial of one concentration only. Some concentrations do not participate in joint concentration programs. Students should consult with the Head Tutor or Director of Undergraduate Study in the relevant fields for more information.
一个关键问题是不同major的课程学分是否可以重复计算。S是不允许的，所以double major的难度大，拿到的毕业生大约是5%。M是可以重复计算学分的，不double或triple的都不好意思说。H就没有double concentration这回事。感兴趣其它学校的自己去研究。
怎么融洽同子女的关系?
·不要监控孩子的电话，尊重其隐私权。
·对孩子的朋友要和蔼可亲，但不要同他们过于亲近。不要侵入他（她）的天地。
·不要在他人面前夸奖孩子，这样会使其尴尬。
·不要在他人面前批评或斥责孩子。如果必须要这样做的话，应该在无人的时候。
·母亲在他人面前要注意服饰。母亲的形象不整洁，孩子会感到羞耻。
·如果你的孩子参加学校的演出，他（她）在舞台上时你不要打手势，这样会令他（她）紧张，甚至出错。
·孩子和你一起坐自己家的车出门时，不要把汽车收音机调到你所喜爱的频道。让孩子挑选电台，但可要求他调低音量。
·在子女需要帮助时要给予帮助，但要注意方法。
·子女在一定的阶段就像需要食品一样需要爱抚，但是爱抚要适可而止，不要在公开场合这样做，更不要在朋友面前这样做。
·不要让你的孩子在外人面前表现他的“本事”，如朗诵、唱歌、跳舞或弹钢琴。如果你为他的本领自豪并希望让人家看到，那就对他提出请求。如果父母坚持让他们在外人面前表现本领，有的孩子会感觉自己像马戏团的猴子。
·不要向他的朋友和亲属讲他的怪癖，尤其不要当他的面前。任何孩子都不愿意别人知道自己的隐私。
·不要让他失去对你的信赖。他向你透露的秘密，你不要告诉别人。你一定要完全尊重他的意愿。
·在他面前不要说谎。他看到自己的父母说谎或弄虚作假，就会感觉不好。例如，父母在某人背后说坏话，而当面又装出热情的样子，孩子就会反感。

MIT不允许double-major, 只能double degrees
叫major, minor, cetificate , 依学校而定
统计和数学决然不同的两个系别，要求的课程非常不一样。
有不少竞赛哇第一年就读研究生的课了，别的娃拿几个major有问题吗？T10 或T5招的小中有IQ130的也有IQ160 的。 后者拿几个majors 几个degree有那么难吗。不要少见多怪哈。
和数学也差老了。LOL
T5里面4年拿三个非严格意义的major人不少，其中有些人完全可以3年拿完，拖上4年是因为学校很多FUN。
但这个比例实际占多少就不知道了。
招的竞赛学霸不要走这条路，他们是往深的地步走。再下来的都不是正经学霸，也不在乎几个major。

错了就要认
统计和CS是工具，对数学竞赛娃很容易的。基本上都不需要去上课。
那么多IMO金牌小中，真做数学研究的极少。
以前没这么多吧。
还有些campers。CS中ML的方向几乎全是有竞赛背景的数学娃。

“统计是屌丝是看不起”，何必呢，那学历史社会学很难找工作，就得撞墙？统计本科当然不够，要继续，但也没必要瞧不起，俺早就在坛子里说过统计最好读phd
数学统计计算机几十年前是一家，不过统计喝计算机越发展越好越壮大，大到后来就独立过日子了。统计有本科学位也太多年了。你看得起看不起统计本科都是一己之见，学生好找工作是真的，
两专业相关就好读，两专业南辕北辙，就修更多的课，关键是兴趣，毕业以后想干什么。
大学4年，30-40学分/学年，一个专业30-40学分，可以有无数种方法毕业。
其实也没什么。只是如果找工作，可以自己放心写。而老二已经跟我们说了，学校double major都困难.
