Yes, in good neighborhoods it is very common for dogs to occasionally get loose. The battery on Gertie’s collar failed, and she passed the boundary. The battery has been replaced.
Both dogs are now contained, and should be for the foreseeable future. In next month when you attend to your landscaping you should be just fine. Feel free to safely mow your entire lawn

这是朋友家发生的真实故事。她发在微信里，经过她同意，我转诉一下。疫情刚开始lock-down时，朋友家担心疫情，没有让landscaper 公司剪草，他们家的草暂时由19岁的ABC儿子剪草，第一天出去剪草时，邻居家的大狗（是一种比较凶的狗）咆哮着冲进我朋友家院子（双方院子都1 acre以上）她家儿子回家给邻居家打电话，没人接，再出去时，狗又疯狂冲进她家院子，朋友和她儿子想，邻居也许不在家，明天再剪草吧！第二天下午，朋友的ABC儿子推着剪草机出去时，那大狗又气势汹汹冲进她家院子，朋友赶紧拿着树棍出去，狗退回去，从院子里看过去，厨房里有人，邻居在家，朋友和儿子站在院子里，喊邻居的名字，没人回答，他们回家拿手机，如果狗再冲进院子，录像留下证据。当他们拿着棍子（大狗，怕被咬到）还沒到院子，那狗又狂吠着飞奔到朋友家院子，朋友立刻录像。朋友有一点生气，明明主人在家，却不管自已的狗，要把录像邮件寄给邻居，她儿子不同意，告诉朋友，你不能让对方知道你手里有什么，应该先看看他们怎么说，朋友对儿子说：那你处理。下面是处理的整过过程。

我也有个犹太邻居，她的狗从来都不leash, 到处跑。有次跑到我们后院，吓死我们的鸡。还经常性chase我儿子（在我家前院和driveway)。

狗的事，在美国肯定很common. 我觉得警察处理起来驾轻就熟 ：）。
有段时间，隔二个房子的邻居家二条恶狗常跑出来，有几次到我的院长，我出不去。后来给社区打电话，再也没见那二条恶狗出来
这件事说明这家华人跟邻居没来往群众关系不好。一般的话小孩跟邻居的狗都是熟的，
见了撸一把毛高兴还来不及猛摇尾巴。邻里互相认识都是在遛狗的时候停下来搭几句话。
子还不好看的。自己安全第一。另外同意波大，一般就是隔壁狗，孩子们都会很熟的，凶的狗也不是说脑子不好，见谁咬谁的，相熟的人也都会认识的
美国人会：按规定办事，打911报警，由警方处理； 中国人会：忍了吧别出声，远亲不如近邻，别为这事影响以后邻居关系。
ABC既解决了问题，又没有让警方介入。
算了，还是继续吃午饭

如果他耍赖，unknown dogs,朋友家可以立刻call animal control,邻居显然意识到了，无奈只好承认。
你朋友也不必过多解读，假如他们是白人，这个邻居可能也会这样放狗出来，直到人家投诉为止。
怎样一步步让邻居不得不承认的。其实，朋友说，很多邻居都很好，这个邻居平时也很自私。
看家护院的，狗会跑出自家院子， 但一般不会到别家的地界咬人的。
其实大狗挺老实， 就是想跟人玩。 小狗才叫得凶， 因为个头小，不自信。
狗也是都有名字的。 国外就是个大农村，这里也是一样， 你跟邻居熟悉了， 看见狗， 叫它的名字， 慢慢就熟悉了。
朋友还说，这个邻居很自私
