The following story was told by the chimp shown in waterfowl's picture below that has become a notorious mugshot.
How Did A Chimp Lose Freedom?
How did I end up here,
behind bars?
As I recall,
I didn't break any law.
Here is all I did.
I went into the Monkey Bar
on the 54th street,
ordered a few drinks from the girl
behind the bar.
Just as I had a little fun,
they found out I didn't have a tail.
They wanted to kick me out.
In resistance,
I swung my arms around.
Next thing I knew,
police came and arrested me.
On the way to the jail,
we passed the park
I saw a few kids
swinging their arms
on a monkey bar there.
The police did nothing to them.
This isn't fair.
I'm a victim of humans’
chimpanzeephobia.
On the other hand,
people jail their own kind
for no reasons, let alone apes.
You ask what I'm going to do next?
I'm going to call
the local bar association
to get a good bartender
who can bail me out.
I'll get my freedom back
as long as I can afford the price.
