Kenyan runner Evans Chebet won the men’s division with a time of 2:06:51. The front of the pack was tight for much of the race, but over the final 10 or so kilometers, Chebet made a decisive move and dominated the close of the race. It was a Kenyan sweep of the top three as Lawrence Cherono finished second at 2:07:21 and defending champ Benson Kipruto finished third at 2:07:27.
Scott Fauble was the top-finishing American male with a time of 2:08:52.
Women’s division
2021 Olympic champion Peres Jepchirchir (KEN) won the women’s elite division with a time of 2:21:02. She edged out Ababel Yeshaneh (ETH) after the two exchanged the lead multiple times in the closing miles. Yeshaneh finished with a time of 2:21:06, and was followed by Mary Ngugi (KEN) who finished with a time of 2:21:32.
Nell Rojas was the top finishing American elite woman, completing the race in a time of 2:25:57.
