I take a lot of inspiration from Frances McDormand, and I learned a lot from her through this journey. It’s a long night, a lot of walking — and I don’t have the courage to be in heels.
What was your creative partnership like with her?
I think we have a lot in common, Fran and I. We both like comfortable footwear, and also really like to work. Not a lot of words, more like a lot of doing. And through that process, I just learned so much from her. As a mentor, as a person — how she carries herself in the industry.
“Our industry is such an ageist industry,” Zhao told me by phone. “Someone like Frances McDormand, who is just so authentically herself, who has not tried to erase those lines on her face or cover that up to fit into the industry – to me, she’ll be relevant forever.”
她是好莱坞大片的导演、制片、编剧、编辑,难道她不懂艺术、不懂美吗?她只是不想迎合。
如果愿意,她可以找世界最棒的形象顾问、化妆师、发型师,让自己在奥奖仪式上光芒四射。可是那又怎样呢?她是真正的艺术家,追求的是人文情怀、个性张扬,她的作品也是关注弱势群体。有她的能力、她的作品,穿啥都美。
她在奥奖的形象就是一个statement. 女性的美不是因为她的衣着、妆容、搭配,而是她的能力、性格、品质。美不仅仅是流行时尚。
这是对皇帝新衣最好的诠释
看赵婷的生活照,不化妆、不整容、自信、坦然,也喜欢扎小辫儿。她就是在奥奖上做她自己,无可厚非。我们也应该接受这样的美。
就像她的作品,没有华丽的化妆和服装,拍得像纪录片。贴近生活、真实自然,是她的风格。着装和作品都如此。
她美,当然也有人认为她丑,没有所谓。皇帝的新衣验证的是人在权威之下,会说谎,但还是有人说实话。就赵婷的美丑,在这里没必要没需要扭曲自己来赞美她。
不是每个人都觉得人要长得像张柏芝,才是美丽。
之所以花瓶绣花枕头花拳绣腿,是因为缺少支撑表象美的内在的综合实力。这个综合实力,能让人走的更远更sustainable更有发展潜力,它是个人的眼界,头脑,悟性,能力,学识,和审美功底的综合体。这些综合实力,恰恰是因为人的生活/工作经历,成长经历和教育经历,以及长期思考长期实践的结果,也决定了一个人的内核—精神层面和气质。。。越是眼界开阔的人,越谦逊,因为广阔的眼界对全局有better visibility,能真正的体会到人外有人天外有天和事物的多样性和多元化(相反是井底之蛙,中国老祖宗真智慧lol).
赵婷最不缺的是内在的实力,时尚表象entry barrier太低,想收拾就收拾的事儿随心所欲,JDI overnight就解决,但是内在实力综合package,entry barrier门槛可高了去了lol。不服可以自己试试也去拿个奥斯卡最佳导演奖lol

她拍的片子都是近乎纪录片式的真实,作品反映内心一如她永远素颜出镜不做作。
1. 性别歧视确实存在。
2. 人们对“与众不同”的包容度极低。同时也间接证明了人们对“个性”的尊重度极低。
赵婷与麦克多蒙特,都与好莱坞式主流审美以及商业电影的创作观,价值观,背道而驰。她们二人都因为个人生活的经历,关注与表现非主流人群的生活,与真实的世界。关注她们俩的外表,而非其作品,更象是一种”买椟还珠“式的不智。
她们在颁奖仪式上的服饰选择,早已经超越普通审美的意义,更多的是一种个人价值观,艺术观,人生态度,以及哲学信仰的强烈表达与宣言,也是她们电影作品的一种延伸表达。二人的形象与她们的作品,极端完美地契合,那就是“真我”!
麦克多蒙特多次表示,不愿意假装成为一个自己不是的人,更不想做众人眼中的所谓“电影明星”。她们俩只想做自己喜欢的事,穿自己喜欢觉得舒服的衣服,做自己真实的自我。至于所谓好莱坞标准,所谓女性审美,WHO CARES!!!
希望大家也能从她们的作品中,得到启迪,体会到人生真实的意义,自我的价值与力量。认识到,Please他人,麻醉于虚假华丽,物质感官的空虚无意义。
