比赛前一周开始准备后勤事务,第一次多亏了华人群体帮助,很多未知的细节事先都有了答案,反观IM提供信息还是粗,运动员手册就改了3遍,渥太华的义工是最高水准的!比赛开始了,站在等候下水的队伍中心情很平静,看了人来人往的观众都伸长脖子找自己人时眼睛湿润了,后来冲线也没有这样的感受,下水前孩子,太太找到了我,大家都很兴奋,睡懒觉的儿子坚持要到场看游泳出发,他们还安排了一天的作息。游泳一切顺利,游得很直,没受风浪影响,第一次享受了湿衣peeler服务。换项后就是骑车,出发很顺,配速比计划的还略快些,大概过了90公里,该来的还是来了,屁股疼,需要停顿,降速,告诫自己紧紧盯住既定的目标,克服这些困难就是进步。终于挣扎到了终点,赛前看了太多遍Netflix Tdf,误把dismount线当作photo finish冲线了,还好没撞上义工老奶奶。再次换项跑步,心情很好,跟一样兴奋的观战儿子说,“I think I am going to make it”。跑步第一圈累但能按计划的配速跑,一路看到不少有意思的事,有人举着这样的牌子,"We don't like quick finisher”,有个女的搂着她的男友边跑边大叫,"You are fxxxing great...you are going to be a fxxxing ironman”,男的什么反应都没有,我们都在旁边笑了。第二圈不知道为什么就变得异常困难,开始跑走模式,直到回程开始恢复跑步,一路黑夜奔赴终点,居然还有义工守着补给站。这次粉色的义工海洋让我动容,再累我也跟每个助威,送水的义工打招呼,这是最起码的尊重。也许是看了很多次冲线的冲线,冲线时很平静,想到的是:
"I have given myself a chance, an opportunity to be part of the day, celebrate my fitness, see if maybe I can cross that finish line, and I made it. What a journey it has been.

这是我报了渥太华大铁几个月后收到的游泳教练发给大家的一些想法。渥太华大铁去年4月终于开始报名了,因为先前阅读了不少励志的打铁故事,所以报名没有太多犹豫。看了他的想法,确定他也在训练铁人运动员,教练的选择也很快定下了。
11月起提供了个人信息后,包括一星期有多少训练时间等等,训练就开始了。大概是相同的理念,熟悉的为人,起步很顺利。交流的方式是Google Drive,有些滞后,不过在填写数据时能加深对训练的思考。整个冬天因为有了这个训练计划,我习惯了冬跑,gym举铁,遇到生活工作的不顺时能找到平和。冬天结束时,打下了一个很不错fitness基础,骑车的FTP也提高了很多。春天天气琢磨不定,教练催促大家尽早外出骑车,但4月天常常还是低温大风,影响了路骑的训练质量,游泳,跑步训练能保证。很快夏天到了,以为自己的训练会一如既往,因为discipline,consistent是自己的强项,但周末的长距离骑行训练出现了困难,不知为何很难持久,屁股酸痛,需要停顿,尤其遇到糟糕的天气,路况,没有解法,这样到了训练最高峰时不巧有一周遭遇了3个病,最后180公里骑行没时间练了,不过最终自己一路偷偷加餐的roller训练有了些成果。
