Hedge fund giant Bridgewater Associates divested from U.S.-listed Chinese stocks in the second quarter, signaling a clear pullback from the market amid rising geopolitical strains and weakening investor confidence in China's economic prospects.

According to its latest quarterly update to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission — known as 13F — on Wednesday, the fund closed out stakes in several Chinese companies, including major names like BaiduAlibabaJD.comPDD HoldingsNioTrip.com Group, and Yum China. Other names include Qifu Technology and Ke Holdings.

I still remember Dalio went almost all in China market

during pandemic, and he also defended his decision around 2024 in his LinkedIn post. Well, I have a lot of respect to both Buffet and Dalio, but personally don't think the retail investors should blindly copy their investment decisions, considering today's market environment and tech dominance, BRK and Bridgewater's scale and size constraints, and especially BRK's cash holdings and opportunity cost....

For selling the China's stakes, I guess Dalio won't care much anymore since he'd withdrawn from Bridgewater.
