It caused bathroom water leak due to connector breakage. Allstate went after the manufacturer. There is a 10 year rule. I could not see manufacturer name from the supply line. I don't know if allstate got any money from the manufacturer.

实行起来会稍微贵一点。我一直坚持这么做，倒也没出过淹房子的大事，有次淹了，找的工人也有保险，修好后发现问题不大，该公司的服务不错，问我是否需要报保险，我问过房客也没什么损失，也就过去了。
直到大约十天前，才真出了事。
记得那些天特别忙。房客报告马桶漏水，几个月前我去续约知道这马桶该换了，于是联系了一家各种评价都不错的公司，有网站，有执照。
工人周三去换马桶时，发现不仅仅换马桶那么简单，需要维修下水管道，加了些费用，表示周四一定修好，我一口答应。周四上午接到房客女儿的电话，水漫金山，淹了两间卧室和过道，积水大约两英寸。我打电话给该公司老板，老板即刻表示，他们会处理好这事，立刻抽水风干。我问公司有无保险，他答有保险。于是放下心来。我忙得团团转，也抽不开身。到周五早上。我电话房客，水是否已干？房客答说还有大约一寸，马桶也摇摇晃晃。立刻给该公司打电话，短信，都没人接没人理会。到下午，我知道出事了。
联系了另一contractor周末去查看和估价，果然得到的结果是施工处理不当，马桶安装不合格，三天时间，地毯地板也不得不换，且需尽快把地毯揭开。立刻请房客自己把地毯揭了，开窗通风。
周一拿到报价12500。于是，我才意识到自己犯了个错误，施工前没要对方的公司保险（当时也没觉得换个马桶是多大的事，换了这么多马桶也没出过事），这公司自出事后就人间蒸发了。我也不敢报自己的保险，知道这种淹水保险一报，所有我名下的保费跟着涨，可能无需两三年时间，这笔钱就会全吐回给保险公司。
于是，这几天我正全力以赴去查这公司的执照和保险，查到才能弥补我的疏忽过失，否则就得自己承担代价。这公司是我的realtor推荐给我的，又是她的同事推荐给她的，她们都在挖地三尺想把这不负责的人挖出来。
好在我的房客倒是不慌不忙不怨，提前把房租付了，夫妻二人跟朋友去墨西哥度假一周，留下女儿和孙女用一间房一个马桶说暂时没问题。好在诸多要事都延期了，这两天正好能集中精力处理这事。
一路房东走来，都是在各种教训中成长。
