my tenant abused it set at 73F and windows open and wear shorts in door make me pay high PG&E, so I bought a Nest Thermostat, set the temperature and locked it. no one can change except me. it is also remoted controled by Nest App. I can see from the App what is the current temp. in the rental house... very convenient, only $200 now no abuse!

Chances are the thermostat maybe not working, or bad connection somewhere.

The main controller is installed near furnace/AC to avoid run wires in the house.
remote controller can be mounted anywhere in the house. and a separate sensor can be mounted anywhere in the house.
