The laboratory of Dr. Bishuang Cai in the Department of Medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeking two self-motivated postdoctoral fellows to join the team to lead multiple NIH-funded projects (2 R01s and 1 R35). The Cai lab focuses on the cellular mechanisms of cardiometabolic diseases including atherosclerosis and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis. Particularly, the team investigates how inflammation becomes defective and how immune cells interact with other cells in cardiometabolic diseases. The lab applies technologies such as transgenic mouse models, human genetics, single-cell/nuclei RNA sequencing, iPSC, genome-wide CRISPR screening, and a variety of cell and molecular techniques to study those important questions.
