It might be vitamin deficency especially vitamin D, B6, B12, selenium, iron, and/or zinc. You should ask your doctor for a comprehensive vitamin panel test.
Or you can try "women's 1 a day" multivitamins + 50mg zinc for a month and see if it improves. There is very little different between men and women's multivitamins - the biggest difference is probably iron.
