Job Description
The IT internship program offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with a wide range of technology to help support libraries across the country.  We have a robust suite of tools that we currently use to manage information internally and to the public. There are also a number of exciting and innovative digital projects that are in planned development and our interns can play a key role in ensuring the success of those projects.

The Information Technology Intern will help optimize these tools and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization as it builds support for libraries in the United States. As an intern you will work directly with our political director to develop technology, create platforms, and build digital tools that are offered by EveryLibrary to the library industry and that are used internally.
These include:
Working with our data-science interns to create interactive data maps and tools Building tools to increase fundraising Designing, creating, and maintaining public facing websites Designing, creating, and maintaining complex web-platforms such as crowdfunding tools, NationBuilder, voter contact tools, and much more Helping to create an internal digital infrastructure to improve the efficiency of the organizational flow of information Working with leading edge voter tools Developing new tools and resources to solve a wide-range of big data and interconnected data problems Finding new efficiencies for data-mining strategies Establishing the interconnectivity of the tools currently in use Troubleshoot office-related technology issues as needed

This position is flexible with school schedules and terms as well as part-time work however it is unpaid and requires between 15-20 hours per week with some time spent in-office at our workspace in Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York. Internships typically run at least 3 months but shorter or longer internships are available if requested.
