TheCyber Security Engineer will operate independently and as part of a team toensure our network, hardware, software and related components are protectedagainst cyber-attacks as well as internal threats. This individual will beresponsible for providing specific security reports in various areas andaspects of the security posture on a regular basis. JobResponsibilities · Develop unique,effective security strategies for software, networks, data center and hardware; · Implement/build-insecurity systems to software, hardware and components; · Research bestpractices and which ones will work best with the company’s infrastructure toprovide the best security company-wide; · Work directly withthe MSSP and Network Administrator to ensure the firewalls are configured andmaintained to protect the network; · Help ensureservers vulnerabilities are identified and mitigated; · Monitor all of thecompany’s security systems to quickly identify and research any suspicious orknown malicious activity; · Take immediate andappropriate action in the event of a cyber-attack on the company; · Work in conductingcontinuing education of company employees; · Assist in themaintenance/updating of the Information Security Plan and policies; · Update thesecurity posture of the company through regular reports; · Research alltickets and events reported by the MSSP, closing the tickets and events in anexpeditious manner and reporting serious incidents immediately; · Identify, as bestpossible, cyber attackers so the appropriate defensive measures can be added orupdated; · Providingrecommendations on security modifications, updates or new solutions; · Work with all ofthe company’s security partners to research events and mitigate threats as theyare identified or occur; · When necessary,draft formal reports for submission to authorities after an incident; · Work with andcooperate with legal authorities, FBI, DHS, NCUA and local authorities whenrequired; · Work independentlyor with others in the IT team as necessary or directed; · Perform any andall other duties that may be required or needed from time to time as requested.
