水下超空泡技术纷纷落马,远远落后俄中

RAMICS was a 2009 U.S. Navy project for a mine-busting supercavitating 30mm cannon projectile fired from a helicopter; it would detonate mines deep
underwater from a safe altitude, but was canceled before it could be
deployed. The even more ambitious Underwater Express was a 2006 DARPA
project for a high-speed supercavitating submarine which also ran into
technical problems.

Lowe level basic research has continued since then, but the U.S. does not
appear to have made significant progress in this field. In fact, the 2021
Navy R&D budget includes a single terse line of plans to “Sunset efforts on supercavitation,” indicating that no further work will be undertaken.

Shark attacks are not a real issue – the last comparable incident Military Times could find was in 2009, and underwater firearms are extremely niche.
But supercavitation may prove to be important in future underwater warfare, for torpedoes, submarines and more. While the U.S. may now be backing off,
there is no shortage of Chinese research in this field. It is not the sharks you need to worry about.
