The same stat can be interpreted differently. Certainly the data you provided shows a overall higher rate of infection for the Black and Hispanic, and it might be due to something that is kind of out of their control. For example, more of them might be essential workers and don't have much choice since they have families to support. But the data do not distinguish the people who are irresponsible enough to go party and put themselves at higher risk. We Asian people have a much lower infection rate mainly due to our abundance of precaution, not due to any privilege we actually never have. You can also look at the numbers this way. Since 95.1 Asian are infected but not hospitalized, 82.2 are hospitalized and survive, and 34.5 die, that gives us a death rate of 16.3% (34.5/(95.1+82.2+34.5)) for Asian. Similarly, the death rate for Black is 13.2%, 13.6% for Hispanic, and 12.9% for White . Again, from this data, once we get infected, we Asian have the highest death rate. Is it due to our DNA? Or is it a systemic discrimination against us?
