I am filing an official complaint against Cox IP address 174.75.211.222 for repeatedly attempting to log into my account (at mitbbs.com) via brute force password attacks. This type of abusive behavior has resulted in my account being in constant lockout state, because the system blocks any account after 5+ failed login attempts for a duration of 24-hours.
Your customer at IP address 174.75.211.222 has effectively used a DoS attack to block my access to important information sources for the past 2 weeks. It is absolutely unacceptable, and I expect full investigations and disciplinary actions against the perpetrators.
Please keep me posted on any findings. If I do not hear back with satisfactory resolution to my complaint within the next 10 days, I will escalate this issue to the BBB and IC3 (Internet Crime Complaint Center by the FBI). Thanks.

Let's see if it is useful. If Cox is you ISP, you can certainly threaten them by threatening terminating your service with them, but if you are not their customer, I am not sure if they will take you serious. Anyway, please keep us updated.

Hope it works, the best of luck! I have not gotten a response email from the complaint email I send on March 9th to "[email protected]" on my password being locked up, I also enclosed some issue resolution suggestions, hope it's helpful to them to the least.
It's a bug within the mitbbs site which they should fix immediately.

I doubted about that at that time. I remember replying to your post. I doubt if 老邢 wants to keep the fun because he can easily prevent that.

They might be short of hands, doubt any site would purposely allow this kind of attacks on their legitimate members to "keep the fun". You are not using your brain.

I did not, and was not able to, provide any clue. Did I? My first response to this thread is to show my pessimistic view about this problem. I don't think complaining to Cox is of any use unless you are its customer. You can check my ip easily.
Look at all my posts in this thread, other than saying "老邢 can easily prevent this attack by separating nickname from login ID or using email to log in", what else did I say to make you think I 主动参加提供线索? My first post is actually kind of discouraging. Are you going to accuse me because I was discouraging?
