Why are the GOP committing political suicide, they had every thing going for them in Texas like in Florida yet they can't seem to stop tripping over their dick. The disaster in Texas due to lack of oversite and accountability with the Ercot board, and then this fucker making the worst optics decision this year thus far. Why are Republicans such dumbasses and can't seem to take a hint and remain strong and cohesive is beyond me. This will defiantly cost the GOP in the 2022 elections, god forbid we start to lose our conservative majority state courts and legislature.

He had a moral obligation to remain with his constituents who were/are literally freezing and starving amongst a massive failure of infrastructure due to inept government.
Any politician with a brain could have made huge gains out of this by going out and talking to the people in the bread lines and maybe helping to distribute emergency supplies (of course you'd make sure to be seen doing this and have the cameras rolling)
The fact that it isn't within his authority to have prevented this or do anything policy wise to help is actually great for him, because it means he couldn't be blamed and only stood to gain if he'd done the glad handing photo op routine.
But he didn't, he was stupid as fuck and now he's completely fucked and Betowill take his seat.
