Just finished traveling on a UA Basic Econ ticket that I purchased before I got the UA Explorer card (but I had on the trip). I wasn’t allowed to check bags for free, but both me and my traveling companion were allowed to have carry ons, board in Group 2, and were seated together (though the seats were assigned, we didn’t get to choose). So if you’re traveling alone, or don ’t mind taking chances on the seating, AND don’t want to check a bag, it would be better to book using the Sapphire Reserve since it earns more of travel purchases than the Explorer card does. Amex Platinum could also be a better choice, but since it doesn’t have any travel insurance, I think the CSR is the better option.

Did the people at the counter know how you paid for the basic economy tickets? If you show them your UA card, they'll further investigate whether you used that exact card to pay for the tickets (thus eligible for the carry-on)?

现在已有CSR，准备长期保留，但是因为美国境内和往返中美的票大部分都是UA，所以
想申请一张Chase的UA卡。现在有60K miles offer，而且首年免年费，想问下几个关于这张卡benefits的问题：

我准备今年用CSR报销我的GE，如果我是这张UA卡的holder，我可以刷这张卡给我太太
报销她的GE么？

这个应该适用于basic economy吧？basic economy连随身carry-on的标准箱都不让带，如果我有了UA这个卡，即使不是用UA卡定的票，随身carry-on应该可以带吧？要想免费托运一个箱子必须用这个UA卡在官网订才行？
### 2 United Club℠ passes
这个pass只允许持卡人自己进去么，还是可以带人进？非常喜欢CSR的PP，限制也不是
那么严格，不知道这个UA卡附带的pass怎么样。。。

正好反过来吧，他们在订票信息里知道你用什么卡买的票，然后根据那个决定登机顺序，顺序决定了，能不能带，带几个随身行李也就同时定了

最近全家的票是economy basic, 用CSR points 出的票。机场只允许持卡人自己带
carry on, 另三人不许carry-on, check in 还要交30. 遂觉得有CSR 如用points，
explorer card 几乎无用。

UA卡的福利只有在用其支付机票/手续费的情况下才能生效
如果机票/手续费用其他卡付，仅仅持有UA卡，是不会有UA卡带来的benefit的
