A postdoctoral position is available within the Neuropathology group at the Lieber Institute for Brain Development. Research projects include interrogation of clinical and postmortem gene expression datasets towards understanding mechanisms of risk and avenues for therapeutic intervention in schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, PTSD, depression, eating disorders, and autism. Principal Responsibilities: The applicant will work with both the Neuropathology group and the Bioinformatics group to apply advanced statistical methods to complex clinical and gene expression datasets. The clinical data base contains information on over 3000 postmortem brain donors, with each donor having a wide range of carefully curated diagnostic and clinical data. The postmortem brain datasets include genotype, RNA sequencing, and DNA methylation datasets. Single cell and laser capture microdissection datasets also will be available for additional study later in 2020. Education and Experience Requirements: · PhD required in Biostatistics or closely related field · Ability to work and troubleshoot independently. · Experience with strong biostatistics, bioinformatics, genetics and neurodevelopment background is desired · Ability to develop novel approaches · Ability to work, support and supervise interdisciplinary work across teams -Excellent organizational and communication skills To Apply: Submit your CV and cover letter to [email protected] with “Post Doc – Neuropathology” in the subject line.
