Our country is going through very unsettling times and we have many insecure and discriminatory people (like all peoples who do not know what love really means).
I think about you often and appreciate the time that we worked together.&# 160;I want to share something funny. During the ugly times of my divorce, my wife asked if we had an affair! I laughed tremendously!&# 160;She posed that question because she said that I only had wonderful things to say about you and that my demeanor was so upbeat about another woman! I simply explained that I saw the goodness in you and was amazed at everthing that you accomplished as a foreigner, as a mother and as a wife. I told her that yes, I was very impressed with XXX! And then I asked her if she would have felt better if I had had an affair or whether it hurt her more that I did not but can still behave in such a positive manner for another person!
I thought you would get a kick out of that and also appreciate that others see you in a very positive light!

我看了内容（原文如下），就傻掉了，这是几个意思？是向我表白吗？（希望是我想多了）请各位大侠支招，怎么回复比较妥当？不想得罪前老板，当然也不想让前老板再发类似的短信！
先简单说一下情况，本人 40+，家庭幸福，前老板是白人55+，5年前跟着前老板干了不到两年，由于队友换工作，我们全家就搬到另外一个州，remote工作了一段时间，就找到local的工作，也就很自然的换了工作，换工作后的头一年过圣诞节的时候发过短信
节日问候一下，之后跟前老板就没有什么联系了。跟前老板工作的那两年感觉也挺正常的，有事说事，最多开会前或者开会后聊一聊各自的孩子的情况，真没觉得有什么特殊的地方！前老板离婚大概是我remote工作的时候，我是听其他同事说的，前老板没有亲口跟我提过他离婚这事儿，今天收到前老板这么莫名其妙的短信，真的好意外！前老板发这个短信是几个意思？该怎么回复比较得体？

我觉得还好不一定是表白，你的前老板也许担心他的前妻会来骚扰你，或是这件事情通过其他的方式传到你这里来，所以先给个解释。
你要是觉得想保持以后见面不尴尬，就找一个中性的方式回一下减减短短的就完了。
