3rd year renewal and salary

帮朋友问个问题 谢谢各位老师回答

一个tenure track上的朋友刚收到学校Provost的信说3rd year review正式过了 然后很快就收到了HR的信和三年的新合同让签字

朋友想问 签3rd year renewal 之后的三年新合同时 有自动涨工资的可能性吗？（他
的没有） 或者说有negotiate salary increase的可能性吗? 就像签new offer时候一
样。

What kind of cards does he have?
NSF career? An offer from another university?

我认为可以， 但建议询问系主任。

his/her annual merit review is supposed to evaluate annual progress and
adjust salary (+1% - +3%) accordingly, but there were major awards, he/she
can certainly try to negotiate a better salary. it has to be reasonable
though.

谢谢您的回复 他目前没什么特别大的awards 然后今年一月刚给涨了6%（在去年 3%
merit increase的基础上） 看来新合同再提工资 感觉不合适？ 尤其在现在这个
difficult time

他目前没什么特别大的awards 纯粹就是renewal 这个timing。。。

系里给涨了6%已经很不错了，没有outside offer，再要比较难。
