I m in nassau county NYS. my county imposes a "sportsman" restriction on the pistol licenses. it means no carry out side of home or range. no transport except to and from a range. They say its OK to stop on the way to get food and gas, I never tried, always straight to the range and back home.
On that note, even though I always keep my pistol in a box, the box in a backpack, the backpack in the trunk, and ammo separate in their factory paper package, mags always empty, pistol, ammo and mags in separate pockets in the backpack. I do drive by a school on my way to the range. and I m pretty sure my car gets withing 1000ft of the school property. Not sure what happens if I got stopped by a police there. do I go to jail for violating a gun free zone?

no CCW. many counties to the north in NYS have CCW, but not in NYC and the surrounding counties. I believe not in Buffalo or Albany either. it is not clear whether my county honors up state CCW. NYC does not honor any permit from anywhere. We are advised that if we need to transport our guns across NYC, lock it in the trunk, dont stop. dont stop for food, dont stop for gas, dont stop for bathroom. foot on the gas till u out side of NYC jurisdiction.
my county is not the worst. In Westchester county, you must "have" a hand gun before you apply for a pistol license, yet, without a pistol license you can not own or even touch a hand gun. some people have family or friend agree to transfer a gun to them so they can "seed" their license. other wise you have pay a few hundred dollars without touching the gun, then go apply for the license with that serial number, wait 12-18 months to get the license then go pick up ur gun. and that license does not allow carry either. Now the real kicker is, before you buy ur 5th hand gun, you must consent to a home inspection by the police for "safe storage". otherwise they will not register that hand gun serial number to u.

如果是联邦法的话，GFSZA 1990版被最高法院推翻了，1994版里没提这一千尺。

你没听说不等于没有。其实加州除了几个左区，绝大部分县CCW很好拿，然后全州通用。
我每次去三藩市，朋友过湾来聚会，腰里都揣着家伙呢。

房东夫妻吵架，有人报警。警察早晨2点来敲门，房东夫妻不在家，只有他。警察搜查
了房子。搜出了他的AR。以违反加州assault weapon ban为由逮捕他。和煽动无关。
具体情况不清楚，好像他有几只AR是加州最新的AW Ban出台之前买的，没有改装。
2018（？）年之前，加州AR允许bullet button，用子弹头顶一下mag release能卸弹夹。2018之后bullet button被禁了。加州开始流行featureless。
