Why not prepaid plans? There are lots of them out there that are cheaper than ATT's. I was with them for at least 17 years and got ripped off a lot. I now feel stupid to not switch out earlier.

I switched to Red Pocket and still use ATT signal. I am paying only $20 per month per line, with a 5 GB data plan.

我加data only sim line到unlimited extra plan，order上面写的清清楚楚是data
only。我在加之前和Sales确定可不可以data only SIM 放进手机里，sales肯定地说没问题，只是没有电话和短信。
但是一旦把sim卡放进smart phone，att系统会自动把data only变成 mobile
line，收取更高的access fee。大家要小心，att越来越狡猾了。

at&t 认不出来的 IMEI 可能可以，比如国产的电话。at&t自己brand的电话它自己随便玩
