OK, I finally decided to open a new post.
 
1st of all, it’s not a advertisement, it's just a diet plan that helped me lost the last extra 10 lbs
comparing to my pre-kid weight.
 
I will make it simple and easy to read --- I am not good at writing!
 
Basic information :

I follow this website information. It has all the things you need to know about this diet.
It's phase 1, do it for 2 weeks. Don’t do it for too long since your body will start eating the muscle
if you don’t eat carb/good carb for too long.
 
2. you should loose 8 - 12 lbs in phase 1.  add some exercise too!
 
3. After 2 weeks, you can add good carbs such as brown rice, whole wheat ... as well as more fruits.
And yes, it is so called South Beach Diet from now on.
 
What you need to know:
 
It's not a diet plan for only 2 weeks, you have to be prepared to do it for the rest of your life.
 
What did I do and Why it works for me:
 
As I said I still had extra 10 lbs when my son was almost 2. I ate a lot of carb -- bad carb like white rice,white bread, and I love sweets and snacks before this diet. ( I think that's why this diet works for me) .
 
I did cheat a little bit during the 1st 2 weeks --- I add a slice of 100% whole wheat bread in the morning.
But other than that, I followed the information from the website. I lost 4 lbs in the 1st week, 4lbs in the 2nd, and 2 lbs in the 3rd. Now my weight stays the same, but I will work out more.
 
Now I still enjoy food, I did not feel hungry during the whole process. Typically for breakfast: 1 boiled egg, 1 cup of coffee and 1 slice of whole wheat bread. For lunch and Dinner : salads and meat ( salmon, chicken, beef ). And I do eat fruits and snacks ( mao dou is a good choice)
 
OK, that's it. Believe me, this diet is not that hard since you can still eat, just be wise about what you eat.
 
I am not sure if it will work you every one of you, but I really want to share this with you, my dear friends in Jia Xiao

我一共张了35 lb,生完后很快减掉25lb. 但可能因为一直喂奶,食欲又好,最后这10lb 怎么也甩不掉。

As you can see, the 1st 2 weeks is the hardest part ---- no bread,rice.... no fruit. But for me, what I missed the most during this phase is fruits!!
Phase 1 ? Star Losing Weight

This is the theory!
 
When we've eaten, the carbohydrates in food get broken down into sugars, which are then absorbed into the blood causing a rise in blood sugar. In response, the hormone insulin is released from the pancreas to remove the sugar from the blood.
 
Carbohydrate-rich foods with a high glycaemic index, like bagels, cornflakes, white bread and jacket potatoes cause a rapid rise in blood sugar, resulting in the release of a large amount of insulin to deal with this. This causes blood sugar levels to drop rapidly, leaving you lacking in energy, craving more carbs and quickly feeling hungry so that you eat again. If this pattern is frequently repeated, you're likely to gain weight as a result a constantly overeating. But on top of this, over time the body becomes resistant to the action of insulin and when this happens, the body becomes more effective at storing fat - especially around our middle! No surprises then that to lose weight, foods with a high GI are out!
 
n contrast, carbs with low glycaemic index such as pasta, pulses and porridge slowly release sugar into the blood, providing a steady supply of energy and leaving you feeling satisfied for longer. This means you get fewer carb cravings, don't constantly feel hungry and so are less likely to overeat. Plus there's less chance that your body will become resistant to the effects of insulin with the result that it continues to burn fat efficiently. Foods with a low GI are therefore recommended if you want to lose weight.
 
这点我是体会很深呀!就拿早餐来说,我原来吃咖啡,costco 的小面包(1-2个)+Jif 的花生酱。我一般6点45吃早饭,可是上午10:30肚子就饿得不行,然后就又吃点snack. 到了中午又开吃....
现在早上咖啡,水煮蛋一个外加一片100%全麦面包(偶尔末点all nature的peanut butter) --- 其实也很多哈 。但是和以前比更健康,而且亲亲松松到中午!

嗯哪。。。在家上班的话不能吃主食很不习惯呢,一般我都是下一碗面的。。。出去吃的话反而容易些,就去salard bar就好了。

Ok, some tips about food choice.
 
Again in the website I posted, there are lots of information about what kind of meat/ vegs you should choose. Now I just list some extra tips from my experience:
 
1. When you do grocery shopping, read the label ! Believe me, I am not the person who reads every ingredients. But you can just make sure sugar, corn syrup or any sugar related is not the 1st couple of ingredients. And you can read the sugar ( x g ) column, the less the better.
 
Eg. 100% whole wheat bread : per serving : sara lee 7g sugar vs. Nature's own 1g --- and this is my before and after bread choice .
 
2. The more natural, the better !
I think I mentioned it before when we talked about peanut butter. I used to buy Jif , which is a pretty fatty peanut butter. But now I buy Smucker's natural peanut butter which contains only peanut and salt.  
 
3. When dine out : I still dine out at least once a week , and salad with grilled chicken breast is my 1st choice. Before I did this diet, I thought I would not feel full from salad. But now I really like it! Or you can choose lean cut meat with vegs as side.

家里还有老公孩子, 老人,总不能因为一个人在减肥而全家都放弃出门吃饭的机会吧。再说这个减肥计划,也不是只有沙拉鸡肉可以吃,鱼虾牛肉也可以照样吃,只不过要瘦肉而已。

after that, yes --- walking / running everyday  but not too much
 
Make sure your body get used to the new diet before you push yourself too hard!

1st of all, I want to thank Costco for offering all the food I need for this diet
 
Yes,I buy all the meat, fresh vegs/fruits , salad, bread from costco to prepare my meal!
 
For Breakfast, no change --- boiled egg, 1 slice of Natural's own 100% whole wheat bread and smucker all natural peanut butter.
 
I usually cook something new for dinner, then I can bring left over as lunch for the next day. All of my meal is meat + veg ( either salad or regular Chinese style veg dish)
 
1. grilled salmon / catfish ---- salmon/catfish from costco. Either just add some salt and black pepper or marinate in Korean BBQ sauce ( no sugar )  then grill. I prefer salmon, I think it tastes better!
 
2. grilled chicken breast ---- I just buy already marinated chicken breast from Costco. there are 6 for the whole package, and 2 lemon herbs / 2 roasted garlic / 2 teriyaki flavor.  Then grill.
 
3. steak --- either sirloin or new york steak from costco. I copy a recipe from food board, I will try to find the link.
 
4. Tuna salad --- Tuna ( in the water ), get rid of all the water in the can, mix it with chopped celery & onion, salt and pepper and fat free Mayonnaise. I always like tuna sandwich, so I really like it too!
 
5. Shirmp --- either grill ot make it cpicy
They are the main 4 meat meals I had during the 1st 2 weeks.
 
Since I ate lots of grilled stuff but just a little strawberry/rasberry, I made Lv Dou Tang without sugar to make sure I am not Shang Huo! It worked for me !

我觉得吃多了蛋白质肚子不舒服呢....好像消化不好积食了的感觉. 你们会吗?
