同样觉得天气预报还是很准的，暑假在山上住几天，每天说几点开始下雨就是几点，很准。我也很惊讶会这么准。
但预测山洪就需要更多的数据收集，计算和分析，和单纯预报几点下雨和降雨量是差很远的。
美国民间很多人对天气预报有热情，很多人自己搞天气预报而且挺准。
肯定有夜间值班的，说不定连孩子都会参与。我家孩子参加这类camp，会安排晚上值班的，是一项活动。

不是的，我说的那个是一个summer camp, 内容就是我说的划船，划到哪就住哪，具体住小木屋还是自己搭帐篷我不了解，但是每一天都要到一个新的地方住，生活用品都得带在身上，非常不方便。你说的这种也有，但是我没报，因为当时和我娃的时间能对上的就是那个划船的camp。即使是你这种，那么多人共用卫生设施，卫生条件也好不到哪去。小孩子还小，让她们过早地自己管理个人所有的事情，那些camp的人都是一个人管好多小孩，不可能事无巨细给你监督到，我是不大放心的。没有喷的意思，仅仅是表达我个人的一些疑问。对于其他选择上这种camp的人，我没有任何不满，尊重她们的选择。

另外还有一点疑问，就是像他们这种camp，很多活动，比如骑马，射箭，瑜伽，舞蹈，画画之类的，要怎么选择孩子会参加哪些活动？家长可以预先选好吗？我不想花几千块让孩子就去那里画个画跳个舞。

我们去的不是religious camp，虽然camp owner和绝大多数都是犹太人。没有任何宗教学习。家长愿意有tutuor，不过学习的还是EC的甚至宗教的，camp也可以帮助你继续。只是小朋友自己没有ipad，得统一到办公室学。
反正给小朋友花的钱只有不划算和更不划算两种。上数学估计能进步更快，这种就是娃开心。我们家娃文体都没天赋，所以我就随便她玩。

查了一下近几年的事故。 2021年 迈阿密公寓楼坍塌死了98人。 2021年 德州冬季停电死了246人。 2023年 夏威夷山火死了98人。 2020和2025年 加州两次山火死了总共60人。 2025 这次德州的summer camp flooding又死了至少70人。 总说中国人吃苦耐劳，忍耐力强。我看美国人的忍耐力一点也不差。点蜡烛，祈祷，然后当没发生过。改进措施，一概没有。死道友不死贫道，只要不落在自己头上，一直都是岁月静好。

娃八岁的时候去了佛光山青年团组织的三天camp，很开心，佛光山讲很多佛法，但她说篝火和唱歌她还是喜欢。九岁就说她除了sleepaway不去任何camp。我在版上求过建议。最后在网上找了联系方式打了差不多七八个all girls camp，选了一个。
宗教camp我没有也不会选择，佛光山的童子军我已经体验过了。师傅参与非常之多。
