Students at Cornell and Yale from families making $75,000 or less will get free tuition. Princeton permits students from families earning $160,000 or less free tuition. Arkansas residents will get free tuition at the University of Arkansas if their family income is under $70,000. Duke offers free tuition to North and South Carolina students if their families make $150,000 or less. The New York University Promise ensures that students whose families make under $100,000 do not have to pay for tuition. 还能上T5? 什么特长竞赛全都没有,只做完校内作业就万事大吉了。

孩子如果知道T5可以免费上,也许就有动力拼一下了?话说如果你是为financial aid打算的话,接下来几年可以考虑把钱放到退休账户和自住房里面,因为这两样top私校往往不计入父母资产。生父的收入和资产也应计入,但是如果你能证明生父拒绝提供抚养费用,那可以提交给学校

这需要进T5啊。进州立大学,15万拿不到助学金的。
已经没有贷款了,401k目前是存满的,但是我也没啥现金,也不敢花钱,总想着孩子大学学费和养老都没着落。
楼主你的经济条件已经非常好了。有可观的401,有15万的年薪,还没贷款。下一步要做的就是看如何规划好401的投资。前几天一个高楼讲的挺好的。然后孩子上大学真的要钱的话卖一套国内的房子就够了。或者现在可以稍微少存一点401,稍微存点现金,增加安全感。

不买股票就首付一个城里在学校附近的小公寓,给个首付,出租出去 让别人给你供楼,退休时卖掉或者留着收租金。
价格低一点肯定可以卖掉的,我家房子去年卖了,想卖肯定能卖得掉
如果不是嫁人瞎眼的话,孩子的生活应该会好很多。
60岁退休,也只有15年了,我也不一定一直能有工作,能够每个月定投到里面去。

我不敢赌这个数目,还有一个是401k也投了股票指数,怕税后的钱到股票里去,崩了的话,得着急死的。国内的资产在房子里,拿也拿不出来。
挺好的,现在离退休还有一定时间,都投sp500也是可以的,等五十多时再慢慢调整。另外你的退休金绝对够了,不要焦虑。现在可以考虑不要存那么多401,留出一些现金提高现在生活的质量和给孩子攒一点学费。国内多余的房子也该卖就卖,这些都是你用来提高生活质量的资产,只有用上了才是真的资产。
既然你的401k都在sp500里,那不该再考虑把其余的钱投入股市了。 我觉得你没有责任给孩子付大学学费,贷款上学在美国是很常见的么。

幸亏只有一个孩子,要不然60都退不了,不过,你至少还有退路,国内两套房,将来回国旅居应该可以过得舒舒服服
