✅ Which Is Better?Health: Nutritionally, they’re almost identical. Organic milk may have slightly more omega-3s (if cows are grass-fed), but the difference is minor. Ethics/Environment: Organic often aligns with better animal welfare and sustainable practices. Cost-Conscious: Regular milk is more budget-friendly and still safe and nutritious due to FDA regulations. 🧫 Antibiotics:Zero tolerance policy: Any milk that tests positive for antibiotic residues must be discarded. Milk is routinely tested at the processing plant. The FDA sets strict limits for veterinary drug residues in food, and the USDA monitors compliance. 🔍 Bottom line: Milk on store shelves — including conventional milk — should have no detectable antibiotics. Growth Hormones (rBST or rBGH): These synthetic hormones may be used in some conventional dairy farms to increase milk production. However, rBST does not significantly increase hormone levels in milk. All milk — even organic — contains natural bovine hormones, including IGF-1, but at very low, biologically insignificant levels. 💡 For comparison: IGF-1 levels in milk are ~1–10 ng/mL — similar in both conventional and organic milk. Your own body naturally produces much more IGF-1 than you'd get from drinking milk.
