John Ullyot, who until last week was chief Pentagon spokesman, has written a piece in Politico in which he says the Pentagon is in “total chaos” and that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is unlikely to remain in his role. “The building is in disarray under Hegseth’s leadership… the dysfunction is now a major distraction for the president — who deserves better from his senior leadership.” Ullyot, who has a long history in Trump world, including work in both administrations and on the 2016 campaign, says he resigned from his position voluntarily. The Pentagon says he was asked to resign.
