Meridians are conceptualized as pathways for the flow of Qi (energy) in the living body, and they are believed to be dynamic, functioning only while the body is alive. There has been some research attempting to link the meridian system with physical anatomical structures. For instance, studies have explored whether meridians correspond to fascial planes or networks of connective tissue. Some scientists have suggested that acupuncture points and meridians may align with areas of lower electrical resistance or fascial lines in the body. Anatomy Trains: Myofascial Meridians for Manual Therapists and Movement Professionals, 4th Edition Authored by Thomas W. Myers, this book delves into the myofascial system, offering insights into how patterns of strain communicate through the body''s connective tissue, contributing to postural compensation and movement stability. Anatomical Evidence of Acupuncture Meridians in the Human Extracellular Matrix This study, published in 2019, investigates the anatomical basis of acupuncture meridians, suggesting that they are part of the human extracellular matrix and that fascia plays a significant role in their structure. Myofascial Meridians as Anatomical Evidence of Acupuncture Channels Published in 2012, this research explores the relationship between myofascial meridians and acupuncture channels, providing anatomical evidence supporting the concept of meridians in the human body. Classic and Modern Meridian Studies: A Review of Low Hydraulic Resistance Pathways This review, published in 2014, examines both traditional and contemporary studies on meridians, focusing on low hydraulic resistance pathways and their implications for understanding meridian systems. An insight into acupoints and meridians in human body based on interstitial fluid circulation This 2020 study investigates the anatomical structures and functions of acupoints and meridians, proposing a complex network of interstitial fluid pathways connecting various parts of the body.
