回复 20楼 shuijiawangshi 的帖子 学得太糙,100% agree, it take me a year to repeat most of the class in a regular engineering school. even today I still feel I make a right choice for leave that school. most of my classmate marry late, or not marry, ship life is not fun, every year people get kill. the student choice a deck major, mostly stay onboard in their life. engineering major are little better, have chance on shore for the job. most of the job is relate to navy. I just know one of my neighbor was class of 1974, he spend the rest of his life in the ship, retire age of 59. marry at age of 45, now, he is 75, his daughter just finish college. he told me never suggest your kid go to that school, unless he really like it. the reason I leave that school is I want to be a real engineer and have a wife. plus don''t let my parent worry too much.

哇塞，我在国内考大学时老爸就让我第一志愿海运学院，但是分数太高没录。在美国念大学工作几年后，想要再读个硕士，原本是想报suny的maritime, 但好像去上学不方便就没有报，还是留在city里面念了个mba。我记得当年老爸的意思是想我去海关工作，或是搞类似海关报关之类的业务。
应该是EIT吧？就是engineer in training ，下一步professional engineer。如果通过率很低，就是学得太糙了

我一个荷兰同事父亲就是学这个，专门管理港口船运进港的，75岁，早就想退休，单位求着不让退，需要经验，没人接班，他爸只好继续上班，长期坐着用电脑的工作，她爸目前在家上班。
我爸妈曾经希望我去上大连海事大学，毕业可以进港务局工作。
