CMU在提供跨领域STAT课程方面，美国没有其他学校可以匹敌，纯STAT其实挺小，STAT+ ML， STAT+ Economics, STAT+Neuroscience, 很多人double major CS，我看就是选择AI也可以，哪怕是选择AI minor ， 对了，CMU好像开设了世界第一个AI本科生专业，背靠CMU强大的SCS和商学院资源，以STAT为基础，可以在robitics, CS, AI, business analytics, computational finance等方向获得一流的跨学科学习体验（double major 或者minor），这是CMU的卖点和强大优势

One girl was a humanities major but she joined Google right after college and already achieved financial freedom. In fact CMU's job placement and salary is one of the highest in the country. All the tech firms, McKinsey and Wall Street recruits at CMU. The OP will not have the same opportunities at UF. p.s. Even if you look at Harvard's job placement after college, you may be disappointed.

There's so many UF grads and having a degree from UF really doesn't stand out that much and no one really recruits there. The other thing is many people gets swayed once they are in college and stop studying and start to lose focus. The chance of that happening is much higher at a partying school like UF versus a top 25 school where majority of the students are still high achievers.

UF的话，州内根本不用付什么钱的，学费基本都免了的，好多孩子还能拿💰回家。州外学费也不贵的。

请问，我看看到的CMU学生都是minor CS的居多，minor CS是不是只学到CS一二年级的皮毛课程；
说是double major CS通常都是牛娃，要保证原来的major GPA 3.6以上，才能读双学位，课业这么重的情况下，两个专业的课程都修得完而且修的好，确实用功。
看来，家长对CMU的教学培养是满意的。

这些人都是在想象，以为进了CMU就能人手一个CS Major，其实每年能有几个学生Double major CS？完全不了解情况 CMU CS的学生质量与其他专业不是一个档次的，所以课程难度比其他专业高多了
我个人不大喜欢CMU的统计，一方面个人是不大喜欢Bayesian；另一方面是外人一提CMU娃就会接着问是不是SCS的，比较烦人。
不过要说起统计专业来，CMU好歹还是Bayesian的大本营，UF有啥？
本州大如果是Berkeley 或者 UCLA，给个不去的理由？
如果是三流州大，选CMU？
州立大学学生A, 入读精算科学专业，大学double major CS, 毕业后西雅图大公司做码工 州立大学学生B, 入读Finance专业，大学double major CS, 毕业后拿到金融和编程两个领域的offer，科技公司做码工 中档加大学生C, 读统计专业，然后大三时发现非常喜欢编程，毕业后继续读CS的研究生（可能如果读CS双专业就不用读研究生了） CMU学生D，统计专业，CS双专业，临近毕业，学业进展顺利

毫无逻辑，花了钱一定要说人家好？那么所有奢侈品牌、豪车、高档酒店、飞机公务舱以上等等等顾客花了大钱就100%满意啦？既然花了钱，那么Amazon上面千千万万的客户评价可都是五星好评？
希望你下次买任何重要东西，千万不要查看产品的customer review, 因为顾客都是持偏见的，你可以街上随便问一个无关紧要的人就做决定
UNC还是纠结一下的好，统计前十，生物统计前五，生统的公共卫生学院全国第二，周边的北卡州立和杜克都是统计大校，在北卡三角，如果同是外州肯定是UNC，但UF州内学费是很大的优点
CMU算啥小疼，就CS牛，其他很一般
