But this is a major issue that needs to be addressed and my aim is to tell my story to begin discourse on this problem. For decades Big Pharma has been exploiting the health issues of the American population for profit. They artificially increase the price of lifesaving drugs, lobby to restrict access to healthcare, collude with insurance companies to deny care, and monetarily incentivize doctors to prescribe harmful drugs in high doses and large quantities which create epidemics of drug addiction. All to fill the pockets of their executives, boards, and shareholders. They don’t wish to heal us, they want to keep us in a perpetual state of suffering so they can have repeat customers. We are nothing more than cash cows slaughtered once we are no longer profitable. The American style of capitalism has dominated every sector of society to the point where our society is nonfunctional.
