NASA has announced that the asteroid 2007 FT3 is on a collision course with Earth, it weighs approximately 54 million tons. What kind of damage is it going to do if it hits land vs the ocean? Is it as bad as the dinosaur asteroid? Can we nuke it?
In either scenario, the potential energy release is equivalent to detonating 2.6 billion tons of TNT, causing significant regional destruction but not global damage.
However, a Nasa spokesperson told the Standard: “There are no known asteroid impact threats to Earth at any time in the next century. Nasa and its partners diligently watch the skies to find, track, and categorise asteroids and near-Earth objects (NEOs), including those that may come close to Earth.

“The speed of the meteorite is a bigger factor than weight. But at its size and speed it would be more of a Hiroshima or Barringer crater event on land.”
The earth will be reset. The human beings will become homo-saur. The global warming will stop instantly. Million years later, whatever intelligent species will scratch their heads (if they have one) to figure out what the ape-like mammals did on earth ages ago...
LOL
