三个小孩这样养很不错了。 你说那种课外班的搞法，就算一娃家庭，或许没有单项一万两万的课时费压力，但要达到那个人力，可能要辞职一个或者请很多的help，一样很吃力的。 孩子是否喜欢和受得住这种课外的精心培养也是两说。

主要是准备工作也很多，推荐信啊，考试啊，为了考试，我肯定要每天抓着5岁的娃补课，也是个辛苦的工作量
认真的回复，小的时候考，相对容易。但是交的钱多因为年数多。高中再考，不太容易进。小学的时候4万出一点头。高中差不多要5万了现在每年学费都涨而且Pingry中国人越来越多了。我的建议真的想进Pingry,权衡risk return,建议4年级考。

Pingry 只有K/2/4/6/9年级entry year. 小学考相对容易，班级固定，能快速交到朋友。6年级9年级考相对难一些，而且是像大学选课一样，没有固定的班级，相对不容易交朋友。但6/9年级招的人数相对多一些。但竞争也大。
每个月到手这么多？应该就是正常到手吧，稅也扣了好多。未来也就每年涨个百分之几而已

Pingry 也不算啥顶级私校， 2流吧。顶级的大部分在纽约城里和麻省一带。
上顶级大学可能还比不上纽约城里的几个公立的特殊高中。
学费4万2，还有午餐钱，独立的午餐还挺贵，还有校服开支，每年还有field trip, 再加上donation和after school program， 夏校啥的，实际支出至少是5万5。你自己考虑，如果是我不会去上，这么小上个2-3万的就可以了。

顶私又不是必须的。 如果父母的收入不是顶级的，为什么期望孩子去顶级私立学校呢？消费欲望和能力要一致啊。而且孩子在一个不属于自己收入层次的学校里学习不见得是好事情，会出现一些心理问题。家长如果砸锅卖铁送孩子上学，如果得不到预期收益心理也会失衡。 这个收入去好学区公立学校就挺好的。
东亚家长喜欢自己吃冷饭让娃吃肉，顺便guilt trip自己的娃。我知道lz不是这么想的，但不要让娃潜意识里觉得家里过得紧张“都是因为自己”，这样的亲子关系不太健康。

公校去大藤的也不少，真有天份的孩子， 在好公校一样可以。普通穷人去顶私做什么？ 父母没钱， 孩子靠自己跨越阶级的多了， 做不到就别说天份了。 这不跟月薪1000 买爱马仕包一样吗？ 有意义吗， 背个包就成富人了？

顶级私校，更适合私校学费只占税后收入零头，想培养孩子好习惯的家庭。如果孩子足够优秀，倒是可以申请减免学费。认识一个孩子，去了全美排第一的顶私，学费全免。
其实捐款并不太多。捐点是个意思，一般也就是几千，少数上万的大款。不要买包就把捐款钱省出来了。
不光如此，还要有思想准备会看到很多家庭是单职工还家里雇保姆而且小孩去了rutgers家长也兴高采烈 :-(

两个娃肯定要端平的 大娃或许适合二档私利，又或许大娃喜欢吃美食想要下馆子， 喜欢父母的陪伴希望父母外包家务，喜欢度假，或者擅长某个课外活动，一样都可以花钱啊

If your end goal is Ivy, going through Pingry is pretty much guaranteed. The school is very focused on students being well rounded with heavy emphasis on writing and grammar. It's a great option if you can swing it. Oh, you may want to consider Lawrenceville too.
All of the schools from this list are great. But Pingry is among the top too, you can take a look at their website and you'll see the number of students accepted at Ivies. Pingry is definitely NOT a second tier private school.
